Hello,
HELP NEEDED LEARNING....
I am in Perth and will be staying for 3 weeks :0) I then go to the East coast. I have an extreme amount of time on my hands and begun to learn to kite surf in Bali (I can stand up and go left and right, but the Balo instructors where useless and greedy gits, so I stopeed learing with them) and I would like to keep this going as I can do it in Blighty (England).
The propblem is that I am back packing and for some stupid reason didn't get a work visa and funds are limited :0(
I am lookin for someone who knows the score to give me a hand, maybe with lessons and a GOOD PRICE I can afford and with buying a cheap kite for someone at my level. i am traveling for a while and to invest in a kite and be able to use it independently of an instructor would be perfect. As I say have 5-6 months of time and to buy kit better for me than rentin. i am keen to get started.....
Experience so far = 5 hours kiting, can stand up and go and control okay alone but not turn, never taught how to lanch safely or any safety drills?!?
If anyone reads this and can help It'll be greatfully received and be returned to you or somone else (kinda like a cycle of good kama.)
Thanks
dan
CRAP! Just looked at the sales pages and don't have a clue where to start with this?!? What sized kite would I need for a 17 stone man and beginner?!?
Is there somewhere I can even go to get started?!?
What's a 'good price'. An hours lesson with an accredited instructor will be at least $125. It's not really the season yet either in Perth.
Do a search on learning in this forum - you will see that everyone will tell you to get lessons from an accredited instructor. In the long run it will save you money - getting the right advice to get the right gear 1st time, not to mention helping you to avoid killing yourself which has a rather detrimental effect on income earning capacity.
I don't think he has started the season yet, but Darren at the kite school is a really helpful guy - he may be able to sort you out with some lessons and know someone where you are going. actionsportswa.com.au/
Cheers.
G'day Choddy,
Born and breed in good old Ipswich, East anglia but lived here in Perth long
enough to be a very proud pozzie !!!!!!!! As for your kiting needs, where's your nearest kite spot, theres several top blokes around for good advise, Darren is one of the top guys in the metro, sounds like you still need at least a couple of lessons before you go back on the water, with no safety lessons behind you you'll be a leathal weapon if you go and buy a cheap kite, your instructor will advise you about buying equipment
I am doing lessons on the river with WA surf. We have been operating for a month now so give us a bell and I'll try and accomodate you. 1800 WA Surf.
