You missed out on a great sesh yesterday arvo.
I thought u said westerlies were bad haha
In that spot you really need to be careful of launching. Lots of wind shadows etc. But great once your out away from the trees and powerlines.
North Westerly's are the bad ones to stay away from around here. Usually super gusty and unpredictable.
So after being told about a kite trying to be a tree on the weekend, any lurker a on here (I know you're watching guys) wanna discuss launching at primbee?
Safest way to launch at Primbee in a Westerly and get out on the water quickly is this
This way your kite can stay fairly low and you don't have to bring it up over the massive clump of trees that have claimed many kites .
If you come in to land and theres nobody to catch your kite land it behind the clump of trees north, there is no wind behind these and your kite will just sit there.
Wanna know who missed out on a fun session today?
You guys who weren't there.
Yep.
Little bit of a gust here and there but mostly consistent.
Enough waves to use as kickers but not really big enough to surf super well on.
Just a fun no stress chilled out arvo.
Thanks go out to the guys that did come down. Just more stoke
Ps, sorry if I'm short tacking you. My bad. :p

. :p
Waves, what waves.. Didn't see anything greater than 6 inches..
was a nice arvo anyway..
1.5 hrs at Kurnell and an hr later 2 hrs at La Perouse . Wasn't a bad day but I do miss my local , glad you got out Trapped . You might have to leave the night kite till next summer , moons rising late at the moment and the NE's are dwindling

Enough for me to hit and crash out on haha.
Yeah I think I'll be leaving that idea for a short while haha

Gerry, WTF you doing up in the big smoke.???
Agree, it's all about done and dusted...!!!
Just a heads up guys.
If you're at warilla and feeling hungry, go the the little take away and get a budget with the lot. It's great.
Oh and trying to kiteboard in marginal offshore winds doesn't really work...
This morning I thought great two solid days of wind for the weekend , I knew it looked too good to be true. Looks like it will come up when were back at work ![]()
Really awesome couple of days. Gonna be sore and tired tomorrow. Can't wait for the next good wind weekend :D
Hi everyone from the Gong,
This weekend look like light to good SSW winds. I usually kite in botany but could stay in wollongong for the weekend.
How is the kiting scene in SSW? Can I kite around fairy meadow beach?
Could some of the locals give me some good pointers?
I know of the unspoken no kiting rule on city and north beach, but is there anything else I should know?
I'll be happy to meet people on the beach somewhere.
Cheers,
Jeremy
Hi Jeremy , mate most beaches around the Illawarra SSW is offshore except Port Kembla but that has its own challenges with rips and shoredumps. If you don't mind flatwater Primbee is the go. Launch is quite safe ,can teather off the copper logs at waters edge in this direction really well. Im sure guys will be there Sunday , me ill be down the coast. Have fun
