Anyone interested in a 30 k down winder on Sat? If the predictions hold, we should have a solid SEaster all day (long shot at this stage, but might get luck) and we may be getting some good swell from the cyclone as well
.
I'd be keen. I've done that distance before, but not along bribie.
Got a 4wd to contribute if needed too.
Keep me posted.
Cheers.
ok for all interested, we will meet at Macca's Car park at the Bribie turn off at around 830am sat morning, to organise, if the weather holds.
Be ready to be interupted or fined by the rangers. Many kiters have been stopped and warned. Part of the route is a birds reserve zone. No kites allowed as the shadows scare the birds. Ring up the Parks office to find out where you are allowed to go upto.
Yeah we have run across this problem a few years ago,. My understanding is if we do not come ashore for any real length of time we are ok. If the wind does die or gear does fail etc. come ashore and pack your gear up smartly. The ranger we came across said we had caused a crash because of rubber neckers???? The crash was nowhere near us but they just seemed to want to blame us for something.
Regardless, they have no authority below the high water mark and hopefully we will not be ashore for any great length of time.
Wind still lokking good!![]()
