Am currently using a 158 cabrina 2008 twin tip it seems thin as people have pointed out and am finding myself using larger kites (which are being affected by gusty conditions more I feel) as i weigh around 95-100kgs and don't have much weight to loose so am looking for a solution.

Is a wider twin the go or should I just progress to a surf board?

will heel side to toe side turns become easier as I find it hard to maintain toe side speed after a turn, have no dramas with heel to toe side turns.
