August we do not get much wind at all in the Brisbane region, other than some occassional strong gusty SE/offshore westerlies. You can consider coming to the snow with us to do snowkiting but 
. If you wanna stay warm, hit up northern Queensland, they have good wind at that time. From 1770 all the way up.... Good luck and have fun!
I personally am not sure what a SE/offshore westerly is but if you head up north get local advice on stingers, crocks and any other nasties up there. Good luck and have fun.
