apparently the broadwaters behind it are pretty good for some flat water - not managed to get out yet tho!
There is a pass word, hand shake plus a typical brand of kite to ride at the neck that you have to tell either DK or DUNCUN then you have to lodge a written request form at the local shop then that request has to be voted on by the "NKK" then if your request has passed that stage you have to prove that you can ride unhooked down the line on a strapless surfboard on the sand dunes then if you pass that stage you have to pass the induction period of 12months then if you make it this far you have to pump all the "local riders" kites plus roll them up at the end of each session for your 12month induction period then if you make it thus far you have to buy a keg of beer after every session of your 12month induction so if you can accommodate these basic requests and rules come on down homie you can ride with is
Who is that tosser.
Anyone that rides main beach better be on thier good game. Its a good spot to surf and when its windy evry kitesurfing that thinks they are the **** will be there.
I love the spot but if your new to the spot, respect those around you that surf it so well. give way to the locals because the locals know each other and give way when its due. the right of way rules are different from flat water in the surf.
If your new to waves, try another beach.
narrow neck will be a good spot for the competition i saw a kite comp there years ago it was awsome, and people are welcome at narrow neck as long as keep clear of surfers swimmers , boogie boarders , dont go near the flags and remember riding wave means sudden direction changes to keep riding the wave so give people room to manouvre on the wave if your from flat water its not c0ol to close quarters with kite surboard riders ,and if one surfer boogie boarder gets injured we will be all banned ,so locals are a little edgy, cheers Druncan
