Looking for someone that will provide some hands on kite boarding tips. I have had a some lessons in the past but have not continued on with the sport due to work. I have looked into lessons again but they are all to expensive in Brisbane. Just looking for someone to help launch and give a few tips for a couple of session (maybe 2 or 3 2hr blocks). If interested please give me a call on 0405 123 891 to discuss price. Would like to start ASAP.
Cheers
Richie
Mate do yourself a favour and get a lesson from Toddy at Surf FX, at Ferry Road Southport. Might just save your life, and even better might just keep you out of a wheelchair and might also stop you hurting somebody else. Don't be a tight arse.
I could not of said that better john freerer. Both tod and kurtis are wonderful teachers. I have great respect in their teaching and knowledge of the sport and highly reccomend them to anyone looking at trying kite surfing for the first time... Young grass hopper Richie once shown the true art of kite boarding, shear water is a wonderful place to fine tune your new found craft...
O I'm sorry Mr Jonny "Can't Read" Freer. How about I spell it out for you again "I have had some lessons". I'm sorry that after being out of the sport for a year and not knowing anyone or general beach condition due to recently moved to the state, I am responsible enough to get someone as support while I'm getting back into the water. I'm sorry that your command of the English language is not strong enough to comprehend the point "just looking for someone to help me launch and give a few tips". At what point in this post did I state I was green to kite surfing. How about, if you have some free time I'll teach your this wonderful past time called reading!!!
John it sounds like little richie needs a one on one lesson if you know what i mean, with that sort of attitude he can stay in brisbane, atleast we can contact him on his mobile to organise a lesson
Hi Richie, I can see a few of the guys including myself are just trying to read between the lines out of concern and in a roundabout way suggest to you based on what your saying, your level of experience is and that it was a while back since you had lessons. I suppose the point we are trying to make that it is probably in your best interest to do a refresher lesson with a professional Kiting Instructor just so your confident and have all bases recovered so that you can be independant as a Kiter. The guys who are commenting are experienced Kiters and have been witness to a few severe accidents over the past by the inexperienced that may have been avoided by being supervised by someone that knows what to look for and how to correct any technique that may need addressing. Sure there are many Kiters that know how to Kite but the art and knowing what to convey to someone in there early stages of Kiting are what the Instructors are trained for. What ever course of action you decide Richie please be safe and we hope to see you out there ripping it up and enjoying the stoke! Good winds to you.
Little Richie, I understand that it probably took you an hour or so to pen such a scathing response. Well done mate! You have started some banter amongst people whom probably have the same views across the board as I do. Honestly mate, what part of "I have looked into lessons but they are all to expensive" doesn't make you come across as being someone who wants to leech off of someone else who has done, and paid for I might add, the lessons needed to progress safely? If you have spent more than 10 mins researching the sport, you would have found that there are methods and systems put in place by kiteboarding affiliations over all the States to basically keep people safe. I welcome all people to the sport, its the greatest thing ever. I have seen people dragged across rock walls, I have seen people nearly drown, there have been people put in comas. You must understand Little Richie, that there are gentleman that read this forum whom have put in hours and hours and hours of time and energy in order to become good, honest, qualified ASKA kiteboarding instructors whose number one objective is to keep people safe in the sport, and here you are, clearly trying to take a short cut to try and save a couple of $$$. It pisses the people off who have paid full freight and it pisses the people off who instruct for a living.
If you ever want to have a chat on reading and literature and really want to press some important issues that people are passionate about then maybe when you have some free time, you will do a bit of research before running off at the mouth at me.
Go and get some lessons or do a refresher lesson, there you will learn the "few tips" you are after and there you will also learn about "general beach conditions". I am sure someone of your cerebral integrity can negotiate the $fee.
Little Richie, don't be a tight arse, because that is exactly how you came across to all of those who read this forum.
hey man, jump on pirate bay and download Kiteboarding beginer, this will run you through everything you need to know really slllllloooooowwwwwwllllleey! If you have not understood how to kiteboard and do it safley Please go for a lesson, otherwise pump up and go burning! watch out for the kids on the beach as kite lines are sharp![]()
I'll come launch your kite for you if you want. $200 per launch; but don't come crying to me when somebody like Gilly3 cuts your lines with his knife because you've crashed your kite into him. lol
