Good to see the local crew from KFC turn up for a wave session today in epic conditions
Was it because they were thinking outside the box?
Or were conditions and over crowding at KFC just too much to bear?
Whatever the reason, it was awesome to catch up with everybody and share the stoke!

For me, I live for that special moment where gravity doesn't exist and time stands still as the ocean beneath me roars and the sound of the wind whistles through my lines after boooooosting off the face of a wave time and time again. Judging by the smiles and whooping from my fellow kiters, I'm thinking that there stoke is no less than mine.
We had two first time wave kiters from our crew ripping it up out there today........
Em and Dane, well done! Gutsy effort

It was great to share the waves today and the after session stoke with my local crew........

I hope it was the same at ur local

Nice one Gilly, green with envy. No waves and even less wind up this end of the street, good to hear someone was having some fun though.

Hey Jace,
Sorry to hear the wind gods weren't pushing some ur way yesterday
It's been slim pickings around here lately, prolly the same for u guys I'm guessing......

@dafunk - How's the knee holding up bud?
Managed to get a solid 4 hours in over there yesterday from about 1pm with just me, Andre and Cisco to start with and then the rest of the crew turned up about 3.30
I think I counted about 15 kites at one stage.....

Might be a chance this arv once this rain clears

Do it again today? Wind switched south at KFC so we came to the beach, but the truth is we heard there was a high flyer on a catalyst there we wanted to watch

Hi Caroline,
Firstly, the westerlies that are coming through this weekend will be very gusty
Secondly, if u are not competent at the following, then the limited areas available to kite in westerlies would not be suitable, as they are full of hazards.
> Kiting upwind
> Retrieving ur board quickly
> Self Rescue
> Being alert to ur surroundings 100% of the time (boat traffic on the weekend is worse than the M1) u would be kiting in a main channel
> Also launching and landing is difficult due to the gusty conditions and the trees

Sorry to be a killjoy, but better to be safe than sorry........
