Has anyone got any advice for kiting South Stradbroke in these westerlies. I'm getting desperate for a kite session and next Tuesday looks windy.
Try seaworld car park next to the water facing Australia fair or if you can still get there still the groin of bums Bay facing Australia fair.
Seaworld car park launch is a bit tricky next to the trees but you have a small island right in front of you that you can kite in the lee of for nice flat water runs. Of course you need to be desperate and prepared to body drag to seaworld beach (otherside of the heliport) drag of shame then knock on the door and walk thru seaworld to get back to the Carpark...from personal experience! You can get runs across the bums bay if the wind direction is better there or launch from the sandy pt at the Australia fair side of bums Bay. It's not for the inexperienced as westerlies always very gusty...
