Hi

I Just moved to Morningside in the South of Brisbane. Looking for kitesufing spots, flat and wave spots. I have been out a few time at Sandgate. Are there any active kiters in the south ?

Regards

Jan

hi Jan,

How experienced are you?

I live in Kangaroo Point, Wellington point, Sandgate and Brighton are your closest spots. You need to get the tide at some of these spots. I think I trip to the Gold or Sunny Coast is definitely worth the effort. NE shouldn't be too far away.

Cheers

Hi

I'm quite competent. Have been kiting for a few years now. Think the gold coast would be easier since I'm on the South Side.

Jan, if you're looking for clean water and sand go to the Sunshine coast. Happy Valley and Golden Beach work on different tides.
Open beaches are also good for downwinders. Good advise available from Paul or Col at kiteaction Caloundra.

I agree, sunny coast has so many options and locally redcliffe gets the best and strongest seabreeze's. Local knowledge....

I am in Morningside as well! Have been to Sandgate and Brighton, Goldcoast is still a bit further , depends on how quick you want to be on the water.
Haven't been able to go the last couple months (just had our first daughter) and priorities were slightly shifted the last little while.
Shoot me a line if you want to go...
