Well here we go. The Council has new signs up to warn Kiters not to kite in flag areas.
These are North and South of Kurrawa Broadbeach depending on wind direction I guess?
Don't know if this is good or bad but it is something all us local beach kiters know and avoid.
Bad because the Council has SIGNS now, and could print more to go......UGGG!!!

Always tell anyone nearing flags to "Pxxx Off' outta there and definitely run and help if a kite is down and heading for a flagged area.
Prevention is best. Try your crazy 'not perfected yet" tricks away from downwind flag areas, tack upwind to the next set of flags then burn & crash.
Happy kiting

Was inevitable I guess??
If we are doing a downwinder, how far out are we meant to stay from the beach within these "no go" areas??
Let's keep our eyes out for the muppets on kites that are to close and could potentially ruin it permanently for us all :(

The guy on the sign looks like you Dave. Remember that modeling shoot you did for council?

Bloody.council should be spending this money on dredging the broad water and making a larger sandy beach at KFC or toilets and running water at shear water...

Troy, sign was modeled on DK, I'm much better looking......

I think it is 150 mtrs each side and 200 mtrs out to sea. Will check and get back to ya all.....I stay way out of the way, the more the better.
