For gods sake, who was the clown that launched a new IDS (green and white) on the grass yesterday and BOOM straight into the pandanas tree......awesome work mate. A mother with a stroller walking up the path who stopped, and hesitated not knowing what to do, along with countless other spectators!! It was full low tide with easy 50m off sand squared and you blatenly stood on the grass loading your kite pretending you know what your doing?? Damn right stupid.

Not only are you and your launcher mate doing harm to the sport there was considerable risk of something dangerous occuring.

I dont wish things upon people but i hoped you did something to your kite when hitting that tree before you launched again to teach you a lesson!!!! But obviously not

As I state again and frigin again LAUNCH THE KITE WITH IT TOWARDS THE WATER, KEEP YOUR KITE LOW, PICK UP YOUR BOARD ON THE WAY TO THE WATER, AND GET ON THE WATER ASAP, WHEN YOU COME BACK IN, DONT STAND AROUND WITH YOUR KITE IN NEUTRAL, LAND IT ASAP.

BRAVO BRAVO PAULY
thats exactly why i ride the surf and you should too mate it seems that all these, I WONT START MY BLOOD BOILING AGAIN
Ill just say this, yes i learnt at KFC and yes i had some major screw ups but i listened to others and learnt from them i haven't rode KFC for a long time but it seems that there are so many "know it all's" out there now who prob dont care i hate to say it but some day one of these green horns will wipe some one out and hurt or kill and then we are SCREWED
WAKE UP GREEN HORNS AND ASK A RIDER WHO KNOWS MORE THAN YOU, A KEEN KITER WILL ASK, KNOW THE RULES, HAVE KITE MANNERS, HAVE MEMBERSHIP TO SEQKA THAT INCLUDES "INSURANCE" BUT MOST OF ALL RIDE TO ENJOY SAFELY AND RIDE TO HAVE FUN.. ENJOY THE WIND FELLOW RIDERS

And if you sail over to The Train, a bit further South, where us windsurfers are...

LEARN THE FN RIGHT OF WAY RULES!
Starboard has right of way. That's it, it's that easy.

I'll make it simple for you monkeys. If your right hand is forward you have right of way, else keep downwind. Exceptions to the rule can be conveyed by person on starboard well in advance, ie by them bearing well off.

I'm sick of playing Chicken while you try to out point me when I have right of way, leaving me to come to a halt to avoid hitting you. Then you have the nerve to spray/boost past me.

Next time I am not going to avoid a crash. I am unhooking and aiming for you.

Unfortunately it only takes one clown to make you all look bad. I'll make a note of the kite next time.

Well said upsidedowner!! Things never seem to amaze me more, the other day a kite got stuck in the tree's, we can all guess who that was!! Plus people running up on the bank to check the time with there kite over the sand in direct south winds. People dont listen to me.....ignorance and know it all's literally think they know it all, maybe i need to put ten hoodies on under my t-shirt (im only a little bloke) and dye my hair darker to look like paulio then things will be dealt with correctly and people will listen lol... on ya pauly

Yea we have all made mistakes in the green horn stage i cant tell ya how many times i trimmed the trees at kfc or raped my gear round some random sail boat mast BUT i did'nt act like i knew it all I LISTENED TO THE MORE ADVANCED RIDERS ALWAYS ASKED FOR TIPS AND WHEN I DID SCREW UP I LEARNT LISTEND N LAUGHED THAT HAS MADE ME A BETTER RIDER
Now i have progressed and ride in the waves (bigger the swell n wind the happier i am) there are days that i just wanna go and "mow the lawn" (ride the flat water) BUT because of all the "know all" eg. DAMM GREEN HORNS in the flat water i gotta tell ya im kinda scared s@#t less that some one will wipe out im not worried about me IM DAMM WORRIED ABOUT THE OTHER RIDERS BUT MOST OF ALL IM REAL WORRIED FOR THE PUBLIC
You may ask how can i say this when im not ever there? well i drive past on those windy days while im working i take time and i just watch and kiters ill be totally honest with you all i just shake my head in shame and total embarrassment for the sport embarrassment for public watching and TOTAL EMBARRASSMENT FOR SEQKA
back in the day when "the old school" riders were riding there on our old school C kites it was fun we could ride within feet of each other because we all knew how the other rode but most of all we had RESPECT respect for our gear respect for safety respect for each other and respect for the public
For those who may not know I have been elected v.p of seqka its a position that i have thought about and take seriously no im not about to start barking orders and bossing people around or to big note myself its not about that at all so if you dont know me come up and say hi also its about working with people promoting the sport showing and suggesting to green horns ideas from my mistakes ways people who are new to the sport ways to improve so they can enjoy and get the rush and thrill that myself plus others world wide all enjoy from kiting to let folks know about respect the "right of way" rules so they can progress to the waves if they choose or to any other style they want hopefully all the kiters on the coast can enjoy the sport together to get along and have fun safely we all have a common interest we enjoy, enjoy but most of all be safe cause please ALWAYS REMEMBER that its just not you who suffers ITS EVERYONE!!!
Good Wind To All

Kitesurfing safety rules
The following kitesurfing safety rules are in place in many kitesurfing locations.

Kite High Rule - A kiter who is upwind (closest to the wind) must keep their kite high to avoid their lines crossing those of downwind kiters. Similarly, the downwind kiter must keep their kite low to avoid their lines crossing upwind kites. This applies regardless of whether kiters are on the same, or opposing courses.

Clearance Rule - A kiter must have a clear safety zone of at least 50m downwind because they move downwind during a jump. A rider must also have a clear safety zone of 30m upwind to jump as his lines could touch the kite or the lines of another rider kiteboarding close by (see Kite High rule).

Kiters are also considered as sailing vessels – so some standard sailing rules apply such as:

Starboard Rule (Sailing Rule 12) - When vessels (e.g. kiters) approach from opposite directions the kiter who has the wind on the starboard (right side, right leg/arm leads in direction of travel) has right of way. The kiter who has the wind on the port side (left side, left leg/arm are leads in direction of travel) shall keep out of the way of the other.

In sailing terms, a sailor or kiter with right of way is entitled to "insist" on exercising that right (warning opposing kiters) by shouting "starboard" very clearly and in good time.

P.S evlPanda I wll post this information to the zoo for you so the monkey gets it.
It's hard to tell one monkey from another till they start flingin **** they all look the same to me.
now a gorilla I can tell them apart they tend to be short fused and grouchy and don't show restraint especially the silverbacks.
lolz
I agree its not hard to give way
and ignorance is no excuse

I Agree Fitzy as the pole on a windsurfer forces your kite high as to not clip it when passing. Downwind is the best way for me every time. I can see the windsurfers line from 20 mtr away easy. and just giving a few mtr for them is nothing for us on kites.
p.s How fast have you gone in your red car?
