Hello All,
I am travelling to Port Douglas for 10 days on August 1st. I am flying with TigerAirways and paying $80 for sport equipment. What is the best kite size for that time of the year? My skills are intermediate. Can I pack 2 kites a harness and one board? Would Tiger get me to pay more? Any advice is welcome.

cheers

Jose

the day has arrived and I have to pack. I was told bring a 10 and 12 meter kite. Also a 138 twin tip board. I found out the sport package should not be over 30 Kilos.

Kitesurfed twice at Yorkeys a couple of weeks ago while on holiday up North. I must have picked the wrong tides as there were heaps of kitesurfers out and not a lot of room. It really made me appreciate Mackay. Went to PD for a couple of days, but no wind.

I went to cairns on the a couple of years ago at this time and struggled on a 12m and wished I'd taken my 14m. Then took the kitesurfarie trip and had a ball my my 9m.

9th day - another windy day -
80kg using 146x45 board - anyone visiting PD, always bring the biggest kite you have for below 10 knots days. I am learning . I am kiting on all wind conditions and walk on the days upwind is not possible.cheer

10th day - 8 out of 9 days the winds would allow you to kite. the winds never got over 20 knots at PD . The average was 15 knots but the water is warm. Would I come back? yes - the best time to kite during my trip was from 1 to 400pm. for families the best place to eat out was the surf club. plan the tours in the morning and kiting around 230 pm. Today Friday will drive to the airport. Saturday back to kiting around port Philips bay with 4/3 wetsuit.
