Hi,
Just thought I'd let you know I found an open syringe / needle on the beach where we launch / land.
I chucked it in the bin.
Bit of any eye opener for me because im running around bear feet there all the time.
Looks like it was washed in with the tide. Probably a one off, not meaning to cause alarm but maybe a good reminder to keep your eyes out.
Cheers.
Disappointing to hear- the kids play there too! Before the Broadwater park was constructed i always use to see needles and crap along there.
Most local council works departments have motorised sand rakes these days specifically designed for extracting needles , glass etc from playgrounds and beaches , if you find something like that it's good to report it to the local council. Usually they will add the area to a regular maintenance list . The thought of a child stepping on a syringe makes my blood run cold ![]()
