Hey doodes and Dudets .
My First post on the forum,
Today was my first day in the water done some body dragging. well , even though the wind was a little light for my 12m Co2 ( 7-8knots ) I had a hoot, I Was in shallow water ( in case it all went pear shaped ) and I got a few nice gusts that lifted me almost all the way out of the water got a bit of sand rash as it got sallower in parts and got dunked a few times but that's whats its all about. Cant wait for my next days off to try my first Kite board ( Cardboard 136 Cruiser bought from www.kiterush.net )
>hope you find what we see<
where are you learning m8?
I need shallow water to learn for myself aswell. Just finished my lessons. But its ****ing hard in the ocean with the damn waves, so i need some shallow flat water
and i dont know where to go to do in on the eastcoast.
Doood . Im in Mackay , QLD, Australia, We get 6meter high tides and 1meter lows, The beaches are flat so at low tide you have to walk for miles to get to the water but at high tide you get heaps of shallow water . Now all i need is a little wind ^_^ .
Yeah,
I got on the water for the first time on Saturday at Kingscliff and was pretty stoked. I went down wind flat out but I reckon it would have been easier to get at least a bit upwind on flat water.
Is there anywhere round the Goldie where there is flat water, and enough room that I won't cream someone if my kite hits the deck?
Cheers
Shearwater park Runaway Bay BarneyBoy
About a 40 minute drive up from Kingscliffe.
Nice wide beach in the Broadwater to safely launch and waist deep water to enable you to stand and control your kite.
Check out the locations link in the SEQKA website
SEQKA.COM
Shearwater is the site recommended for learners.
Just remember to stay downwind of the experienced kiters to prevent any tangles.
Saw you down at Kingscliffe on Saturday Arvo I reckon, getting dragged downwind through the shallows.

Ha Ha...Yeah Fitzy, that was me.
It's tough getting used to kiting, after spending so long windsurfing.
Hope to get on the broadwater this weekend... Cheers for the heads up.
Shearwater, or jumpinpin when I can arrange a boat....
