Hey All,
I'm new to the area here and keen to try a DI trip. It looks like Friday could be a great day for a late afternoon session but I'm not sure about driving home in the dark? Is it doable?

The tides look wrong mate.
its low tide at lunch time. If your driving up and back the beach you want to be doing it at low tide, So normally low tide early am 5 oclock and then come back in the arvo.

Or you have to go through gympie

I'm heading up on Saturday for a clean up the beach camp and hoping to get a session in sometime. What's the go? I've heard the lagoon is the spot, but assume that is on the north side and not sure if the south easterly will be so hot for it.

Yeah, needs a good northerly and have to assume it is 5 knots less than the DI weather station suggests since it is mounted way up high on the lighthouse.

It's looking like a strong north is still coming in Fri afternoon. The only issue is beach driving home in the dark. It would be at least 7:30 before we could begin to head back. Anyone else attempted this?

Driving at night isnt a problem, less traffic so no dramas.

Saw one guy doing a downwinder up the beach being chased by two cars. He was winning. Thought about having a crack on the lagoon, but the wind was a bit shifty and gusty. Definitely more trips on the horizon.
