After the awesome time had by all on our first trip to Double Island point a few weeks ago we decided that once was just not enough. We are doing it again on the first weekend in December (2nd -4th) and your welcome to come along.
We will be leaving Surf FX at 4pm on Friday the 2nd, 2 days of camping, kiteboarding, surfing and whatever else. Back 16th evening. BYO food, WATER, beer (cans only, less rubbish) and anything else you need.
You will need a 4X4 with a recovery point and would be good if you had a snatch strap. I suggest a trip to super cheap auto and get a tow rated shackle to make attaching a snatch strap a breeze. Each vehicle will need a permit and a camping permit (link below). There are no shops, few toilets, its real camping. Ideally each car will have their own water, food, stove, tent ect.
We will have lots of demo kites and boards, paddle boards and toys to try too.
Drive to Noosa, take the barge across the river then get on the beach and head north to the Teewah camping area. We will be camping at the northern most end of the camping area as marked on the map. Jon has a white wrangler 4 door so keep an eye out for it.

Hi,
I have hired a 4x4 for the trip.... I may get to SurfFX a little late due to work - maybe around 4:45.
I'm happy to take anybody along for the ride.
Please call 0406780081 if you need a lift.
Let's hope for a windy weekend!
Dan
I'm not heading to surf fx now with the 4x4 as there is a friend in hope island who wants to jump in and we will be getting to the camp a bit later due to work.
I guess we need to call Jon at Surf FX for confirmation that it's still on.
What a great trip. Sunny, no rain, good wind and big swell.
We had about 30 people come up and everyone had a great time.
Saturday had massive swell and 30 knots on the main beach. In the morning 1 group of more experienced riders did a down winder from our camp ground to Rainbow beach, almost 30 km! another group drove to rainbow and kited in the cleaner conditions. A quick lunch and we all packed up and headed for the super flat water at Inskip point. hell man guy did a solo down winder from rainbow to Inskip for a total 45km down winder! SE on the incoming tide was fantastic.
Sunday we woke up with sore heads and the wind had dropped. A quick drive to the north side of the point and we were in SUP and surf heaven. The surf off the point was a nice 3 foot and wrapped in. One highlight was a curious 2m wide manta ray that circled us on the SUPs for a half hour.
A great trip. The next one we will be heading south...
Awesome trip, I had a real blast of a time Kiting, Camping and Surfing up there at DI and Inskip with the Surf FX crew. Thanks Jon and Guy for arranging, I will definitely go on any future ones if planned ![]()
