Brisbane Kite Club
As President of the Brisbane Kite Club I would like to explain the reason for the name change, and apoligise for any confussion this may have caused.
Originally `the name 'Brighton Kite Club' was chosen because that's the name of the beach where the founding members mostly kited,(Brighton Kite Beach in Brisbane).
After registering the name ect setting up all the usual formalities .We were notified by SEQKA that there had been some confusion all around the country with an event we advertised .......Turns out that there is practically a Brighton beach in every state of Australia where people kiteboard...
After hearing this and also the fact that SEQKA approached us and wanted us to incorperate the greater Brisbane area for our membership drive thus changing the demographic area of our potential members,We decided to change the name to 'Brisbane Kite Club' to cover the whole of the Brisbane region. (we also didn't feel it fair to localise the club to a certain beach as the origional name did as we will be covering a greater area).
I hope this clears up some questions..
Thanks to all the new members who have joined up over the past couple of months ,and look forward to meeting any new members in the future,we have alot of events coming up so keep an eye on the event section of this site.
Also I want to thank Richard in public for his close work with SEQKA and AKSA on the membership/insurance details for our club and members,I know he has spent hours of time and dozens of emails and phone calls on this .Thanks also to rest of the commity and volunteers who have helped out with the running of events over the past couple of months.
Thanks Jayson

Rattlehead we are putting a club together on the sunny coast, hoping that we might find out if there is a club insurance rate through aksa, unable to get contact from them.
Menace,
AKSA are in the process of reviewing Club Premiums as we speak, until the 31st of December cost of cover will remain at $65, considering the amount of cover and the fact you get kiter to kiter cover it's great value for money.
Big wave Dave is forming a club at caloundra as well at the moment, to be honest it would be easier to have a north coast division of Seqka/Aksa and maybe two social clubs than trying to affiliate 2 clubs on the North coast.
Speaking to Paul "SEQKA" last night coverage for AKSA after 31st Dec will still be under $100 depending on upcoming membership numbers.
As of now the whole $65 is used for Aksa cover, do your self a favor and have a laptop with you at your meeting and get guys to Join AKSA at meeting online as they need to read and tick indemnity box to ensure correct joining protocol.
