Thumbs Up

Hi, 1st time poster here. I haver recently bought kiteboarding gear and was so excited about learning to kiteboard over my 3 weeks holidays. I have had a couple of lessons and now everytime i go out by myself the wind wont play the game. I have been out everyday this week and ranged from 25 knots to nothing. I need a consistent 13 - 15 knots to learn in (12 metre kite 85 kilo rider) but its not happening. What is the wind like normally at this time of year and should i buy a larger kite for the light wind days (if so what size)

Cheers

hey mate, where have you been kiting and what time of day?
The next month or two is the windiest time of year when the seabreezes go biggest. It's often windier on the northern beaches though, and the seabreeze hangs in longer into the arvo/evening.
You won't need a bigger kite, if anything you should get a smaller one, like an 8 or a 9..
keep an eye on the weather observations on bom!
