Hi There !!!

I am a beginner. I just started to learn kite surfing. I am looking for someone who can give me a hand who lives in Adelaide as none of my mates want to do it.

It is easier to learn with someone than on my own as you lose the board a lot when you first start. In addition you need someone to launch and land the bigger kites till you get good at it. With two people we can swap the kite while the other person keeps an eye on the kiter and board ... etc Like an observer till the skill is mastered. I don't really want to pay $$ for someone to walk after me while I do all the work.

I have taken 3 lessons and know what to do. I am also a member of SAKSA. I have the gear then we can go out together. You can give me a hand as I have all the gear. I know what needs to be done so it is just a matter of getting out there and doing it as it involves muscle memory. It will be a lot easier learning in pairs which will accelerate the learning process. In addition it will be safer as if the kiter gets into trouble the other person will be able to help them out.

I saw a few new guys use this method (two guys one on the kite and the other helping out). I think it is the best way to learn and there will be less chance of losing the board or damaging the kite ;-)

So if any of you guys or gals are interested please let me know and we will work something out.

Thank you in advance.

Cheers,

Mikoman

Body dragging is a skill that you need to know how to do, and is a good incentive to ride and keep your feet on the board. Just toughen up get down the beach and meet the local crew. There is always someone around that can help launch and land your kit if you kite in the right areas.

If you really are spending that much time in the water you may still need more lessons.

Hey mate.
Good to hear you have had some lessons. (some people dont)

When i started, once i mastered the basics, i found half the battle of learning was hanging with the right people. If u have a crew around that support your riding and give you helpful tips when you need them, you'll not only enjoy learning but youll get better.

Just wait til summer kicks in and im sure the SA crew will be more then happy to help you out.

good luck

Hey Mikoman,
Agree with the guys above. Make yourself known on the beach just as you have on this forum and most crew will be happy to keep an eye on you. Everyone has gone through that learning curve at one time or another...
Largs is particularly good given the wide open spaces, shallow water and if there's wind, there is usually someone there.
Good luck!

It has been a little hard to find ppl on the beach as it is winter hence the forum post. I will be down at Largs as much as I can and in summer it will be better. Thanks for the advice ..
