If they are all the same length the one with the least amount of rocker will be "faster" not necessarily the most comfortable though.

This thread still going?
OK so...

If your in perth grab a Sugarqube 135 or 140 for a demo at KSS scarbs or woodys, I know Phil is only too happy to give you a demo on a Shinn board, so while your at it try out an alternative, these boards are no doubt the easiest to ride boards you will find, made specificaly for WA coastal conditions, a true allrounder.

If you want to ride mirror smooth flat water exclusivly, its a diffrent story though, you can test your guts out and may not come to a conclusion about a board choice. as these guys want to fly their kites low. Its about pop, which usually means a hard grabbing board that feals like running on rails not much good as an all rounder

The question of speed is meaningless unless there's some context.

The fastest board I ever had in completely flat water was also the slowest in messy chop, precisely because of its flat rocker. In chop too flat a board requires massive back foot pressure to keep the nose from catching.

Adding to the point that speed without control is unusable, the fastest board for Ruben Lenten will not be the fastest board for a beginner.

For me (intermediate who often rides in messy chop) the 50fifty is fast and, more importantly, comfortable at speed. The rocker distribution is key here, and on this front boards vary so much that you really have to demo to find what you like.

i agree with all you said.. you cant find all in one board, but the best compination that suits to your level. BTW, i had an opinion about that .. 50/50 and monk take the top of the list.. laluz 2011 s the perfect board for a beginer - intermidiate.. 2012 is more stif.. (probably faster) so it takes some points for expert riders.. i realy want to try new laluz and infra.. i think they found the right combination for a quality and light construction without to spend unnecessary money
