Had the kite 1 month has anyone else had problems with the safety line staying twisted around the mono line . Had a crash , kite looped got out of control , pulled the safety on chicken loop, kite jammed on the centre lines because they were all ready twisted, lucky it wasnt high winds. I think when wrapping up lines the PU extension gets a memory in that position and wants to stay there. The PU sliding thru the bar is great, not when it twists around each other and kite doesnt respond and your in trouble, which is of major importance after how well the kite flies in the surf, which to me is one of the best surf kites out there, . Any advice (dont wrap pu bits doesnt count , end up with bag of mess each time.)

Rider: 70kg, intermediate
Style: freeride surf
Weather: ?-? knots
Build Quality: 8/10
Satisfaction: 9/10 kite , 5 for bar ( centre line twist )

You could try a different attachment point to avoid the twisting. I.e. the metal triangle on the chicken loop. This would leave the system to twist freely and avoid some of the issues. On the down side it won't flag to one line but it should still have enough depower with the bar fully sheeted out to not cause any problems.

I've been flying Takoon for 3 y,love it.
re:twisting:
- first whe you set up the kite make sure there is no twist on cetral lines
- after doing triks/looping kite, etc do not forget to untwist it (it has a swivel>very easly to do)
- the red=safety line has bungy on the distal end>so it should maintain tension on the safety line to avoid twisting.Sometimes it /red one goes slack >twisting around main/yellow one.But itself it should not affect the safety system as lines are still able to slide along each other. So the problems I had earlyer was actually red/safety line been twisted and stuck arounf either stopper ball or adjusting knots further up the line.
Way to fix>simple tape around knots and extra bits lof lines flopping around,
plastic cap just under the screw in the stopper ball.
If you find it difficult to see what i mean e-mail me and I'll take pics of my lines.
Good luck.
Alex.

How is it now. I just untwisted it.
looks fine to me. Now.
You must some how, spun the chicken loop between the de power rope & the safety. Making the plastic coating on the safety wrap around the de power line at the bar.

Good you see you out there ripping it up in the good surf we have had, but would like to see you get in deeper on those double over head waves & surf it. Pull out when the white wash is over your head. Not just when the wave is capping over the top.
