My Comments:
anybody ever had a strongkites, as i am a novice to this particular sport and somebody passed me on a strongkite 11.6 meter ( for a case of beers)as he had never got into it. Its still new but 6 years old!
Your qualified instructor will be able to advise you on a suitable kite after you've had your first few lessons!
In the meantime, you have a nice new shade sail. I hope the beers were on special.
Do not try to learn on any six year old kite.
Sounds like a great deal,
I hope the colour is the same as some newer kites, that way you will be able to cut bits of it to patch up a kite that you will actualy be able to use without killing yourself.
Get a leson, next time you will be able to save your self some beer. Kites cost money, there are some good deals around for second hand gear if you know what to look for, you dont, you wouldnt buy a car with a jamed on accelarator and no breaks would you because that kite is very much the same thing.
get a kite made in the last 2-3years ask questions on seabreeze to make sure it is suitable before you buy not all kites will suit you. Get a lesson, get a lesson, get a lesson..From a qualified instructor, not the guy that sold you that kite as he must have absolutly know idea anyway.
Good luck.
You will find it much more enjoyable starting out on new age gear. But believe it or not people did learn on gear 10 years ago.
Take it to an instructor and tell him you want to learn on it.Get a 5th line attached to it. If its all you can afford then go for it.If you have never flown a kite then Dont try or you will die.
