Hiyas, chasing a bit of advice regarding expanding my quiver. I currently have an 09 rev 2 11m and ive been stoked with this kite as Im up and riding after a few sessions but im looking at getting a couple more kites for more wind range. I may even sell the 11 and go to a 9 and 13. Just wondering if those who have flown both reckon i should spend the extra money and get 2010 octanes or stick to finding a couple of tidy rev 2s. Cheers in advance.

Hey Zealander,

Two ideas, to consider, either go the 9 & 13 Revs (thats what I fly, plenty of range) or continue to hone your skills on the 11 until Slingshot bring out the 2011 range. The Octane has not really been as successful as the rev so they may make some changes for the 2011 season.

Hope that helps
Horey

Hi Zealand

I have used both and went for the 2010 octane. Found it to be a little more stable and has great re launch. I am only a novice and the more i progress the more i enjoy this kite but hey if your happy with the rev like alot of people are then maby just expand with that and save your $. Best to just demo the Octane for yourself.

Hi!
I had 2009 REV before i got my 2010 octane, the octane has about the same wind range in light wind, but more range in high end. So you can go for a bigger kite, i think 13 and 9 would be a better combo for you with 93kg. I think the octane is more stable kite then the rev specially in high end. And also is better for unhooked freestyle. /Henrik
