Im looking at a 129*39. would this be too small to start boarding on. i have a 9 mtr hybrid and have surfed for years, just without a kite!!

Hi Investor,

I would think that the 129 is a little on the small side, especially if you want to ride in waves.

As a beginner of 80 odd kilo's, I'd recommend about a 135 x 40ish. A little more waterline length doesn't go astray in the waves.

As a more experienced or advanced rider you will probably be ok on the 129. Again it depends on the board itself. For example, a 129 Airush Protoy will be a nice board for surf and freeride.

The board I would recommend for you now would be something like a North X-Ride 135. Ideal for surf, chop and freeride/style. Nice flex, raked fins, soft rails, concave and comfy straps. They have been our most popular board over summer by a coutry mile.

Good winds,
