been riding the 9m and 13m rev for over a year now, mostly the 13 due to light wind here in the east, thats why i really need to know if its worth trading the 13 08 for a 09, is there really that much difference , speed, feel, bottom end, thanks mc
Hey MC,
well i've only been kiting for 2 years now and i've been flying the fuels. i tried out a mates rev when it came out, i found it so light on the bar, didn't realy go for it as i found it a little harder to know where the kite was. I have since flown the 09 rev2 and now with the 3 settings on the wing tips you can put on more bar pressure, making it with a c kite feel. first day on it i was doing my first hooked in kite loops with out a prob.. im about 85kg and ride a 136sx, it was getting me up going in lighter winds than the 13 fuel.. i would normaly be flying the 17m or the machine..
hope this helps in some way..
cheers.

Hi MC, I've also had the 9/13. I was one of the sceptics of the new REV, the 08 was soo good & 09 looks identical. My advice, re-read Puppets & Gerard's reviews of 9m. They are spot on. 09 has more power, more depower, faster, hangs in the air even more betterer. But I think less learner friendly - it will punnish you for your mistakes a lot harder than the 08 ever would!
I admit I've only got the 09 9m at this stage, but I can say it was definately worth upgrading.
Cheers COL
Upgraded my 208 Rev 13 recently for the new Rev2 13m which is my all day everyday kite almost. Quicker than the old one and does get you going in less wind, flew it yesterday on innermost back line setting setting (more bar pressure) and loved it. Happily flies in stronger gusty conditions when depowered. New bar much better with bigger center hole, build quality tough as always and worth the changeover.
Keep an eye on the pulleys to ensure they don't lock up with sand, if they do it will eventually cause the bridals to twist and shorten up as I've seen on other Revs.
There is certainly a bigger difference in the 13m and 15m rev 09's then in the smaller sizes. Changes are much more noticable.. Get on one and give it a try..
Most comments is goes up wind better, and more responsive..
