Hi

I was thinking of buying a second hand board, as my new one is probably floating somewhere off the abrohlos islands The question is, how long does a board last? Do they lose their pop within a year or two? Do they delaminate, split or lose their flex?

This is my second season, so I'm still a bit beginnerish. What would be better - a new "bottom-of-the-range-but-still-OK" beginners/intermediate board, or a high-end second hand intermediate board.

cheers

Sanjay

All boards loose there pop, dont hold an edge, get real stiff, and dont plane on the water after a few years Just kidding. If a board is looked after it will last for as long as you want to keep it. And as for new v second hand, you can pick up new or near new last year boards at good prices if your on a budget. You dont have to use this year's gear if you cant afford it. Allot of shops that demo gear sell it off cheap when new stuff comes out at good prices.
