Rider: 70 kg, advanced beginner?
Style: mostly freeride, like to be freestyling
Weather: 15 to 25 knots
Build Quality: ?/10
Satisfaction: ?/10
Disclosure: nup

My Comments: hey guys, hoping to pick up an end of season bargain. All the above boards on offer for about the same price for new or demo models.
I'm kiting 99% in Melbourne a very occasional getaway. Looking for something that will kill the chop - ####in spray! - go well upwind, have good range and give me all the help I need with some relatively tame jumps. I'm flying 9m and 11m Converts at the moment.
I'm told that a 135cm board is what I need.
Advice about preferences, pro's and con's appreciated.
Cheers!

I've ridden the Xcaliber... and spent the last few weeks on a Vanguard 137x42 and just bought and had a couple of days on a Limited 140x43. Both the Axis boards are better than the Xcaliber for general free riding - for me. Xcaliber was harsher in chop... otherwise similar. Axis pads and straps are better :D

Sure you need a 135? I found with the 137 that if I couldn't get upwind, there simply wasn't the power in the kite to get off the water and do anything fun... great low end, even in mountainous ocean chop and swell... you might be able to get away with a 132...

And - the Limited *is* worth the extra dose...

Thanks Kamikuza. I don't really know that the 135cm is best size for me, just what I've been told in the shops. Bigger board would have better low end I guess? You close to 70kg too? I'm trying to demo a few boards but finding it hard to arrange and compare. Wanted to try the Vanguard but only the 132 available at my local. I have an xCaliber to demo so will see how it goes. Suspect I will have to roll the dice and make a partly untried best guess at some point. The x-Ride not avail for demo but has had some big wraps. Hoping I can't go too far wrong, all of the boards should be good but which would be my best bet??

Bwa-hahahaha! Nope, I'm closer to double your weight than I am to 70kg...

Try the 132 Vanguard - you may be surprised by the performance of the smaller board. Then buy the Limited
