Female rider
65kgs with wettie
5'10" surfboard in the ocean
ride waves & cruise around out the back a lot because i'm a noob
wind range about 12knots - 25knots around here

I've been riding the Bandit 3 10m for a few months and am more than happy with it from 11-20ish knots. It has a pretty small bar compared to what I am used to (i used to ride a 9m REV) but I find the power of the kite good on the lighter days and smooth power delivery, and overall a smoother ride to the REVs. I'm a bit overpowered on windier days. Now that I have a bit more experience I wanted a smaller kite for those 18knot+ days in the surf.

I've gone with a Core GT 7m but have bought the kite only at this stage. It's a similar shape & design to my bandit; I haven't ridden it before but i've heard lots of good things and it seems to suit what I am looking for. Does this sound like a suitable quiver? I want to use the bar from my Bandit on the Core (i like it) will this be OK?

Cheers for the input.

Can't see why the bar wouldn't work with both kites. In the future it would be best to find the answers to your questions before you buy

yeah perhaps you're right Mattress... But if the bar didn't work I was fully prepared to buy a Core one...

Cheers

Probably not the best quiver, i don't think there will be as much gap between the two kites as you were hoping the core seems to have more grunt than the bandit but the bandit is a lot nicer to fly. I would have gone a 5m especially riding a surf board and taking into account your weight.

The bar should work fine, but could make the turning very quick with little input.

I hope you got it for a good price, you may be able to try it and if you dont like it get rid of it and ask some questions before you buy next time.

from what I remember ezza the 7m core came with a pretty big bar and The power should be similar to bandits

Dont Bandits have longer rear lines (like metres longer) to suit their bridle
And don't match other kites
But check rigging as I maybe totally wrong

Righto'

The bandit 3 bar will work as it has equal length lines, as does the Core (older bandits wont as they aren't equal).

The ESP bar is adjustable and I normally fly the 7m GT using the inside (skinny) settings, so the bandit bar is just about equal to that.

As for power, the 7m GT is a little grunter, more power than the Bandit 3 8m, but probably just less than the 9m. However, it has a nice top end and boosts unbelievably well..so enjoy.

^^ That was the case with the original bandit and the DOS but pretty sure the 3 has all lines same length.
Only had one fly of a 7mtr GT and they are a reasonable kite but I found they had fairly heavy bar pressure and were a bit hard to shut off the power for waveriding.
