hey junior, I invented forum rabbling!

But I have to laugh when a stalker/rabbler whines about whether a post belongs here or in another section, which he would rabble into anyway.

I only had 30 mins of crappy lightish winds, ended up puting 33M lines on my 14M Light XC, and could still only hold ground so gave up rather than drop the kite because the wind was getting holey too.

Myself and a mate used the Zephyr board they were on, we both liked the feel of the pad and strap. The strap/pad combo for me is excellent, I have smallish feet, size 8 and my toes can still reach and hang over the toe rail, which they could not on the old pad.

The feel of the strap is very cushy, there is nothing hard inside the strap pad that your foot can touch. The position of the rear lip on the pad is spot on and really helps keep your foot in the strap, and it was not problem to get my foot in.
I had the strap done up a fair bit tighter than I can handle with my Syncs, and I was not getting any of that pain in the arch that I get when I have the Syncs too tight.

Hoping to get out this arvo, the winds a lot stronger, gusts up to 40 average about 25-30, 8M Light XC weather.

thanks steve for your feedback, i been looking forward to there release since december..
they look good but i really must see them in person to make my decision. 250 bucks is abit steep, the Lf comp bindings are the same $ and look like the pad migght be more comfy on them.
big decision

I've spoken with Adrian Roper about the price, he is having a look at it and think there will be a major price reduction on them soon, so take my initial price as wrong and don't buy any just yet.
We will refund the difference to any customer that has already purchased.

Hey there,

So are these new pads fully adjustable down to real small like the old 08 'smalls' were?

Also, these new thin tips........ do they have the plastic things over the screws to spread the load. Theres no chance of them cracking being even thinner like some nobiles did in the past?

Is the FLX the one to go for if you ride freestyle in choppy/flat/waist high kickers?

Yes that can adjust down to tiny, at a guess I'd say down to around size 4US
They don't need special washers on top of the deck, the tips are not paper thin, just noticeably thinner than last years board. The whole top and bottom shape has been refined.
Still no word on the new price, but I am pestering them!

PS - Nice slow mobe Pat. Only caught the end of it, was it a back or front mobe?

Hi all, have had these new underground straps on my nobile 666 board now for about a month, i think underground are heading in the right direction with these straps as they feel quite comfortable and seem to fit your foot into the strap and hold it there ok when the straps are dry. HOWEVER after about a months usage with these i have already broken the stiching on the adjustment strap on both straps, also once the velcro is wet it is such a thin strap that it comes undone and flaps around having to return to the beach every half an hour. The small velcro sections that hold the straps to the footbed dont work either. From a riders point of view, underground need to improve the quality on the stiching, and the velcro is not holding because it is way to thin. the foot beds are great, not to soft and not to hard and the toe grip is high and works.

I had the 2008 132 FLX with Underground foot bed system and recently traded in for 2009 132 FLX with the new pads. After 3 sessions on the new gear I must admit that I love the new board but much prefer last years straps & pads. My feet felt more locked in with the 08's. Having said that, everyone’s feet are different and what may work for one person may not for another. You need to try for yourself and decide. I have fairly small feet (7.5 mens) with high arches. I, too, have had problems with the weak stitching and front straps loosening up while riding. The straps are very narrow and thin and the ends are not anchored all that securely. They have a tendency to flap around a bit, even more so if done up quite tight and there is excess hanging past the velcro.

You have to be VERY careful when pulling the top strap(s) across the Velcro when adjusting to avoid tearing the stitching on the one side. These do not slide through a metal fitting below so there is zero give when you pull on them. I had my foot placed on the board at the beach and was leaning over to adjust and tighten a little when… well you can see the result below.

You can pull on the strap that is positioned beneath the top one to tighten things up but then just gently flip the top strap over it and secure to velcro.
