Hi all,
I am looking at getting a new board for the next season, will definatly be demoing before i buy.
Anyone out there tried both the new Underground FLX and Cardboards Freeride/Tempo and can give me a comparison![]()
Are the Undergrounds worth the extra bucks![]()

I have owned both and they are very similar. Ride both if you can its really down to personal preference at the end of the day.
I have not seen the new CB so I can not really coment there.I did ride last years CardBoard and they seemed quite good.
But I have seen and ridden the new UG and its Awsome! real big improvment on last years. So smooth and fast. Not to mention a wicked finish. The tips are so flexi but the middle section is nice and stiff, great pop but still with a comfy ride.
imo you would be better off shelling out the xtra few bucks for the UG its only $50 extra anyway. But I have been told that a lot of shops do give the Card Boards away for next to nothing,So you might end up saving a bit more than $50.
From my experience the Underground boards always hold their vallue a lot more than other boards,so when it comes time to trade up you should gain that bit extra that you spent.
If you want to try the new UnderGround let me know we have a demo in store that you can take for the weekend if you like.
Regards
Luke

Cardboards
I didnt post this to get into a PIMP FEST!
Thanks Paul1 i,ll demo when i get a chance, might even try LiquidForce aswell.![]()
Definately demo all you can. It is the only way you can tell.....
I think you will find Cardboards a more refined and customised product than anything else on the market.
The physical weight alone is a standout from the rest, let alone the great service and custom options from a local proven supplier.
Litlle things like the detail in the core, matt bottom finish for accelleration, customisable graphics and of course price, add up to a great board.
For a genuine review of the new Cardboards Tempo see the link below:

I thought that you would have liked to have heard that you will more than likely save more than $50 by buying the Cardboard as they seem to go for quite cheep. This is a good thing is it not??
I Was not trying to down grade the Cardboards. like I said "I have ridden last years and they felt quite good"!
You mentiond that you wanted to Demo the new UD, I was letting you know I have one for you to try.
Hardly "pimping" especially when I mention the CB was a good board and cheap.
Sorry for getting involved.
My Grandma's dead by the way dude.

if your willing to try LF boards, have a ride on the Aura comp or recoil comp, super smooth board with decent pop, aura is more flexible so will probably be nicer on landings etc, a bit ligther then standar model aswell. depends on what style your riding is though..
i think cardboard is good because you get a custom board designed for your needs out of it, pretty sure the quality and type of construction is very similar.
Miss the shop if they firstly want to sell you something from overseas.
Then go straight to www.cardboarding.com
If you know what you need in a board, it can be built.
Also you can choose your own graphics and you can pick up the phone and speak to the Australian guy who makes the boards.
I've had 3 boards and still have 2.
2 - 133 x 40 Bit skatie at speed in chop.
1 - 143 x 40 the most terrific freestyle board I have ridden.Nick named the magic carpet.![]()
toppleover, the best thing to do will be to do a bit of a search over the last year on both boards. In a comparison thread like this all you'll get is "this one's better than that". In some of the other reviews you'll get a better idea of how each one performs and then decide on which characteristics you like better. You're pretty much not going to be breaking either one and either one can give you any combination of flex in the tips and middle etc. Both the TEMPO and FLX have the same concaves as far as I know. I have a 137cm TEMPO and it is by far the best TT I have ridden in the surf and Flat water.
