The PRODIGY - from Ocean Rodeo

The all terrain freeride 4 line kite that is designed for the rider who is looking for that one kite that can
be used for all riding styles with a design that is built to ensure that the kite is super stable and safe.
The Prodigy is ideal for those new to kiting right up to advanced kiters who are looking for a huge wind range which suited to steady light wind right up to unpredictable high wind.
The prodigy is a simple, 3 strut kite that has a massive wind range and gives a huge power delivery but also has a very user friendly forgiving feeling.

I have tested the Prodigy in all disciplines. It delivers awesome power but in that same friendly way. Smooth on the turns and steady in the sky but with acceleration & lift for those big airs and hang time we all love!!

The water relaunch of any kite is something I consider to be highly important. Whether you are a newby needing to keep the action moving or a wave rider needing to clear the wave zone in a hurry relaunch is critical. All Ocean Rodeo kites are equipped with the unique "Direct De-Power" bridle which rolls the kite over in the event total de-power or ejection. No more dragging downwind from an upside down kite and way less chance of a ripped kite if you are caught in the kill zone. This system allows for maximum de-power when the rider needs it the most and makes relaunch an absolute cinch.

Personal Experience

During the R&D stages of the Prodigys development I was given the opportunity to put the 7m Prodigy to the test. Keeping in mind what the kite was designed for I tested it through all aspects of kitesurfing. This little kite delivered a lot of power no matter what the windpeed. It produced nice floaty boosts with a surprisingly long hangtime considering it was such a small kite.
The Prodigy is also a weapon of choice for waveriders due to its stability, park & ride ability and its smooth powerful turns through the window.

The recommended bar for Prodigy is the "Freeride" due to its simplicity but hardcore design. This bar has below the bar trim and an adjustable sliding stopper for when you are in 'cruise control' mode.
The Prodigy is one of those kites that delivers in all areas of kiting. It is a simple, safe, stable kite which will aid any rider, no matter what discipline, through all stages of progression.

Okay RPM my challenge to you is to go and demo this kite and give it your unbiased review.

They are all biased man. Look at me and my edges now. We all justify our expenditures it is only natural.

There are plenty of unsolicited reviews of this kite elsewhere if you look, have you? I have.

Do you need to pump air into these kites or is it automatic?
Do the lines every twist into a bird's nest if I dump it in the surf?
Will they withstand a direct impact from a bomb?
Do they fly better inverted or extroverted?
Will a 6m get me going in sub 10kn winds and still be sendable in cat 15 winds?

If it will meet my criteria I will pimp the sh1t out of this kite...

Most importantly, does it have 'Venturi Technology'?
