Thumbs Up

Rider:70 kg,,advanced
Style: Freeriding, Surf, Wake, Freestyle
Weather,,20 to 28 knots
Build Quality: ?10/10
Satisfaction: 10/10
Disclosure: shop owener

My Comments:had the chance to take a Taboo 8 m to Wedge Island for 2 days,,,
First ,,this kite looks awesome,,recon one of the best kites build from best,,every detail is there,,and its done very well,,reinforcements, stiches,,it just looks solid,,,
No pulleys?was wondering how could they do it,,surprise,,,it reminds me an old yarga,,,it looks like a c kite,,feels like a c kite but it turns so fast and smooth that is not a c kite anymore,,,grunty with lots of depower and explosive lift,,,using a twintip the kite feels and delivers power like a truck---but needs wind,,its a kite for high end wind,,the bottom end its not like a waroo or kahoona,,,but on strong wind just delivers that feeling of power that we all love when 25 knots are there,,,with the surf board the kite feels like its just towing you down the line,,the reaction is straight super responsive ,,loops are power full with no back stall,,,,im in love with this kite,,,,,,remember needs wind maybe 3 to 4 knots extra then the warro or kahoona,,and its not a beginner kite,,,,kahoona will do this job easyer for a beginner,,,,

just demoed the 10m TABOO.
scarbs in 20knts
5 years experience twin tip 68 kgs
takes 15 mins to dial in the kite (I normally ride Waroos)and the wind picked up slighgtly.
Loved it!! needs lotsa wind to find its sweet spot and then it's on!!!
unbelievably smooth riding kite, seems to cut through the air like butter.
Jumps like hell , you go up, then up, then up some more, then just drift along and land god-knows-where.
It loves to be ridden one-handed, my Waroos were always a two hands on the bar kind of kite.Completely intuitive kind of riding, you almost never have to look at the kite, you just sense where it is.
a real fun kite , so easy to fly and it makes no mistakes. they reckon this is their higher performance kite but it rides so smoothly and intuitively any one will look good on one of these things
this year ive demoed Blade, Takoon North, RRD, Kahuna, Slingshot
build quality 10/10 easily
looks 10/10 (IMHO)
satisfaction 9/10
only down side; might be a narrow sweet spot?
I think I better fly it again tomorrow 'till I find out. .

I second that!

I have had the 12m for a few months and love it but I am in disbelief to how good this 10m is!

I have had it out twice, once in 15knots and once in 24knots on a twin tip.

The bottom end on the 10m was suprisingly good (as i was expecting it to lack a bit).
This kite is super smooth
Very fast and direct feel
Awesome boost
The top end stabiility of this kite is excellent.

This year I have also demoed Slingshot rally, switchblade and nomad

The wind just picked up so I am heading out!

Smooth, smooth, smooth
Stable, stable, stable
Direct, responsive, fast turning
A kiteloop machine, a top freestyler's kite...
Relaunches ok, excellent upwindability

However it needs wind!! At 90kg I'm too heavy for it. I'd say the 8 is right for someone around 75. I flew an RPM and Rally straight after: felt crude, clunky by comparison.

My personal quiver is a pair of V2 Kahoonas this year. I'd say the 7.5 Kahoona has about 20-30% more grunt than the Taboo 8 m.

Hope this is useful to someone. A kite well worth trying out!
