Hi All,
I am looking for a smaller kite to compliment a 10m Switchblade IDS. - I find that i am at my upper limit around 27-28 knots on the 10m, and would like a kite that can push me upto about 35 knots. - What is a reasonable amount of overlap within kites?
I am unsure of the following - Do i go with a 8m or go to the smaller 6m switchblade, or give the 7m Crossbow ago. I would prefer to stay with Cabrinha, but will look at other options.

Thanks KR

If you want to stick with SB IDS (similar handling=good idea) then the 6M would be better. It will start to work well for you from around 24/25 knots.
CB IDS 7M would give a bit more overlap but will start to top out around 35+ knots, which is a serious amount of wind.
Another lower cost option is the Convert IDS 7M
7m Rev2 would be another good option, that will handle +30 no worries.

Thanks Steve,

I was a bit worried that a 6m might be a bit small. But if it kicks in around 24-25 knots, then it certainly would be a good compliment with the 10m.
How does the convert fly? Is it similar to the crossbow or switchblade? Thanks for the feedback. I definately will look at at 6 or 7m kite, and leave the 8m alone.

Thanks again

Wise choice, the 8M would give too much overlap and its gets near its top end just over 30
The six will work sure from 24/25, and you will have plenty of top end to handle winds up to 40+, beyond that wind strength its just too sketchy to kite I reckon.
Unless you have protected flat water conditions.
The 7M Convert would kick in around 23/24 and would top out in the high 30's
Its similar to the SB in performance, easier relaunch in lulls, more power in turns, as good or better for unhooking.
Limited colour choice (red/yellow).
