Rode the 13mtr Rev 2 at the flat water clinic on Sunday in a gusty horrid westerly on Lake Weyba with wind going from 15-37knots and changing from SW - NW by the second. In other words I was desperate for a kite but you know the feeling and someone else was using my 11mtr, figured 13 would do the job.

Had a great time, ate water often but all good, especially the jumps. The kite handled it all, felt a little over powered occasionally, but still handled the conditions easily which was amazing. Didn't drop out of the sky even once, considering the constant change in wind direction this was impressive. Definately a huge improvement on last years stablility and speed in gusty conditions. Easily kept it in the window by manouvreing it quickly when it luft up with the gusts. Its speed was a huge advantage in the conditions.

Have Fun!

I'm looking at getting a new rev. Wanting to go more freestyle and doing kite loops.
I rode the 08 11m rev a few weeks ago with a 128 board in about 18knots, choppy water.
I liked the feel of the kite but felt i was not getting enough power out of it.
I am use to switchblades so maybe that has something to do with it?? Or maybe if i had ridden a slightly bigger board, (132 or so) i might have had that bit extra i needed??
Should i think about getting a 13mor stick with the 11m?? Trying to get one kite that will cover me for the 15-25 knot range.

Hi REED DOGG
Im 72kg and like to ride with some power so generally ride the 13, liked last years but have found this years to be even more reliable especially in lighter & stronger winds. In the middle its not a big differance but at both ends you can tell.
Have fun

Ummmm, 37 knots?? And you're wondering why you are overpowered??

Hey Puppet, I had to get that new 13m in the end. You knew I would didn't you. I never had any complaints with my REV 1, but this kite is just so easy. I think the 9m is too fast & agressive for a learner, but the 13m is so friendly it will suit anybody! In wind so light there is barely a speck of white on the ocean, maintaining kitespeed even on the upstroke is a breeze. It certainly gets going well before the REV1. You've got to be desperate (thats me)to be out that early (6'7" surfboard) but it does show how easily it hangs in the air. & then there's the extra depower, ooh! & that extra upwind ability, aah! & they said life wasn't meant to be easy
The 9m will always be my favourite, but the REV2 13 is definately a big improvement.
Cheers
Col
