Hi, someone knows for direct experience the real wind range of the blade fat lady 2013?
I'm 75-80 kg
I heard it's not so wide and it's easy to get overpowered...
And what about the bar pressure? It's harder than the Oz Zephir or the Best Ts 15m?
thank you
nic

6 pages worth.

Suggest you email the guys at and around your weight. And also state what the above dude has asked in your email, including board choic.

I have one but can't answer any of your questions. Just took it out for the first time. The rear lines felt a little long to me, until the wind filled in. I just had a kite in 8-11kn (reading up high at the lighthouse 300m above sea level) less on the beach. Was flukey offshore and current working against me. There were no whitecaps. No other kite I have ridden could have got me out the back and able to surf a wave. I think the kite has loads of potential but I feel I haven't got the kite tuned perfectly yet.
Cons.
-Tiny inflation valve compared to ozone and cabrinha that require heaps more effort. Time to hand pump two minutes thirty with a breather.
-Pump looks cheap
-When pumped hard still has some fold/wobble in canopy due to tiny struts.
- Requires a two year advanced course in origami to get it back in the bag
-Some hard bits on bar ends; no plastic coating on centre line through bar
Pros.
-IT GOT ME OUT THERE
-It is an advanced, nearly concept design with the strut and canopy shape that works as a very efficient wing. Very different to anything I have owned in the past.
-Bar pressure, turning and drift were all fine considering strength of wind
-It's a big kite that works with a surfboard
I'll know more when I ride it more and fine tune it.

After spending some time with my 2012 fat lady I think they have a place but for the sacrifice in maneuverability and control you get with a 17m kite I find I prefer a smaller kite and a bigger board. If I wanted to do an easy downwinder I'd rip out the fat lady for sure but if you want to try and stay on station in light winds, it's tough work. One gust and you are a long way down wind. Granted my experience is only with TT's, could be diff with a SB.

I'd prefer to work a smaller kite than park a big one, cause they both drop out of the sky at similar wind speeds if you're not moving them anyway.

High aspect and efficient board means light wind able...to me anyhow.

+1
I am amazed how well my airush VXR 13 m and shinn king George combo goes.... As long as you don't bog it down trying to get too much out of it too quickly you can get the thing motoring. You also learn to do very efficient transition as well.... Great fun + you can even get some great boosts in
Love it ...

Except for those heavy guys that need a big kite for those moderate to just hitting strong winds. If ya gonna be on a 17m then this would be a good choice I reckon if you want to do some wave riding and other more powered moves than mowing the lawn.
