Hi Buschy,

The Users guide is like a 1cm thick manual in full colour and in every conceivable language. As the kites have been only recently released, the Users guides weren't ready to go out with the kites.

The newest Access XC and Manta's also shipped with photocopied manuals. You can get the manual from your dealer once they receive the new manuals for the kites that have been sold.

Hope you enjoy the kite, it's a wicked kite!

Good winds,

What's the lightest wind anyone has flown the 13m(both sport and edge if there's any difference)? Looking at replacing my larger kite for a 13m sport as my light wind kite to replace my 14 Halo.
85kg and riding a 132 underground flx.
Wanna be able to get going in about 10-11knots.
I'd like to demo a 13 in really light winds but normally I'm instructing. See if i can find a time to try it out
Cheers

Hi Inverted,

Although I haven't flown the 13m Sport II in light winds, I have flown the 13m Edge II in very light wind and I am pretty sure that the 13m Edge II will not get you going in 10-11 knots on your board and body weight.

A 14m Halo has the bottom end of a 20m kite and as you are aware, it turns like a road train, has ridiculous bar pressure and is just plain hard work to fly. The Ozone Instincts you are talking about have decent bottom end but no 13m LEI kite will get you going in that sort of wind, for your body weight on the 132.

I rode the 13m Edge on an Airush Exile (135 x 47) in around average 11-12 knots (lulls to 8 and spikes to 15) and was able to easily ride upwind and even do small jumps (in the gusts). At 15 knots I was quite powered. The Instincts are awesome kites but bottom end is not where their strength lies. It's when they start to wind out into their wind range that they really come alive and the differences between them and other kites starts to really widen.

I would reckon your realistic wind range on a 13m Sport would be ~13 - 25 knots for your board and weight.

What I can assure you of is that the Ozone INstincts are really nice to fly compared to most bigger kites. They turn and fly fast, have little bar pressure and feel crisp and light to fly. The 13m doesn't feel like a 13m, more like an 11.

If you want 9-11 knot wind ranges, speak to Ian Young about his Flysurfer Speeds and Psycho 3's in the mega sizes. They'll do what you want.

You can demo the kites if you like to determine for yourself their bottom end. If there are a few riders in your local patch, I'll come to you with all the toys and we can make a day of it. Let me know.

Good winds,
