Hi Guys.

2011 Kiteboards
North X-Ride vs Nobile T5 vs Cabrinha Caliber

I'm weighing up getting one of three boards (2011 models) - (A present from my wife)

Just wondering if folk out there have any comments, tips or cautions.

About me:
Rider: 80kg, 6'3" Level: intermediate
Style: Freeriding
Wind: 15-25 knots
Looking for: Something that handles chop, will be fun, easy to ride and go upwind, allows a bit of progression.

Size-wise: I'm probably thinking of the 136 for the X-Ride or Caliber or 134 for the T5.

Thanks in advance - even if you've just got a sentence or two to write.

Cheers
Jono

You cant go wrong with the nobile, myself ide say try the NHP 134 its a more advance board but if you leave the big fins in it you wont struggle with it ,it trucks upwind, eats up chop, good in surf and flat and later you can put the smaller fins in it .Dont get me wrong the 555 is a great board but sounds like your up to the NHP
Have Fun

This years cabrinha boards seem a little less robust than past years dont buy a 2011. Straps break, boards craze alot as if the uv coat is too hard .

Forget the craprinha.

Xride is good, the Jaimie is the one you want. It really is a special board.

NHP is very nice too.

I'd go a 2011 jaimie as its really comfy, tracks outstanding up wind, eats chop (no spray in eyes) I'd even say jaimie and NHP are the best boards on the market.

I agree on the Caliber mate - owned an 09 and really tried to get to know it, but it just didn't do it for me - the pop was no better than any other twinnie I've ridden and it just didn't track uopwaind or carve very smoothly. Recently rode the 2011 and it was worse.

I've got an Airush crossover and it is very sweet - carves brilliantly in the chop and actually has a great amount of pop even at a lengthy 142.

I agree with this. The Jamie is a much better board for progressing. I demoed a 132 and totally loved it. Ended up with a Xenon luluz though (really happy with it), maybe worth a try too. Demoing gear is so much fun!
