The Gambler is a new board for North.
Its a twintip board (with a similar look to the Team) but is made to ride kite/cable park and behind the boat.
I was suer excited by this development, something that can do the lot rather then having 2 boards.
The base is also made of a much stronger construction so it will hold up on rails and sliders.
First look of this board was wow.
Clean, crisp and the dimensions looked dialed.
Unfortunately i didnt get a chance to ride cable on the board, but with the wind cranking, why pay for a cable sesh.
Behind the kite, the board ripped.
It held and edge, transitioned like any other kite board.
The big difference was in the landings.
Its been a while since i've done anything close to a freestyle trick.
This board made it all so easy.
The larger then normal rocker, and stiffer then normal flex (for a kiteboard) made flat and semi uncontrolled landings seem smooth as silk.
The new sliding mounting system worked a treat too.
I rode this board with boots, but t
he change between straps and boots could easily be done depending on what style of riding your doing.
I guess the next test will be at the cable park, and after hitting some sliders, it will be interesting to see how the base holds up.
Basically if your the kind of rider, that loves freestyle, gets behind the boat and cable a bit and loves jibbing and hitting sliders/rails then this is the board for you.
Dont be fooled by the wakeboard styles dimensions, this thing is definitely still a kiteboard.
go get one.
enjoy
Good to see that your stoked on them man, they're such versatile boards!
They look so trick with those glowing white bots!!!!
Marcel
Hit Tommy up at Onboard.
They might have a demo...
Its a sick allround board, i reckon itll ride behind the boat sweet too
yeah looks sick i have a liquid force grind wakestyle board that works a treat but its getting a bit out dated this board looks like my next one ![]()
I loked at it in the shop. It's got less rocker, less bottom shape, and more flex that any other wakestyle board i've looked at (Custom, DLX, Tempo, Arcade). I'd imagine this would translate into a sort of half assed wakestyle board but I've not ridden it.
I would like to have my mind changed though as the quality of the thing is second to none.
