My Comments:
Had to lay to rest my Underground Flx 135 after my husband rode it & somehow the corner ripped off it. I loved that board, but I am downgrading in size. Found the 135cm too long & heavy. (Have trouble tucking my knees up properly as it feels like there is a bit of a log strapped my feet) Looking at a 125 or 128cm board instead.
Am going to trial a few before I purchase, but would like some advice on great board for females & why you prefer them? Hoping to get a direction of boards worth trying.
Cheers! Enjoy the beautiful green arrows this weekend!!

Hi there as you say you loved the Flx 135 I think a board worth trying is a 2011 Underground Crypt it is everything that your Flx was and more.
Here are the colours it looks pretty cool with the carbon fibre, bit more expensive than most prob due to the carbon, thats one of the standout twinny boards I think for this year.
Goodluck on your hunt. ![]()
Hi Jacq,
i have been trying a lot of different boards in the past year and used to ride a Nobile NHP 128cm which was my favourite. However, i didnt like the footpads and straps. My small feet were slipping out quite a lot and the straps were not so great to adjust and rubbed on my feet.
I tried the Xenon LaLuz and found the board straight away amazingly smooth with such light and effortless feel to ride.
The LaLuz faster than the Nobile (creates less drag) and has more pop, especially in choppy conditions which im riding in most of the times.
The landings on the LaLuz are so gentle and the board is very lively, giving a lighter rider like myself a lot of feedback which helps me progressing because i can actually feel what the board is doing under my feet. Unfortunately, a lot of boards are still too stiff for us girls, hope the industry will change this in the next years.
Hopefully you will get the chance to try a LaLuz. I think a 129cm would be a great size for you to try.

That last post by the Medic was actually me. Husband has logged into my seabreeze, probably was too slack to swap pages to his. ha ha!
I do prefer to ride with heel bungees, so whatever board I get will be getting those. I would however like comfortable foot pads which are mostly the right size for my feet (height wise). With the Underground board pads, when I pulled my toes up, I just moved my feet in the pad & didn't bring the board towards me at all.
I am trailing an interim board (cheap $100 Cindy Mosey North board) that is getting me on the water till I get my new board. It is a 125cm board. It will be interesting to see if the length & weight difference allow me bring my knees up properly & complete those back rolls that I am 3/4 completing at the moment.
Keep the opinions & board types coming. I am taking note & going to trial some this Sunday hopefully.
Cheers,
Lawso!
check out the cardboards tempo which is my favorite the 131 would suit you well. or one of the shinn boards, either player or monk.
the momentum is also a very nice board and this years pads and straps are very good.
I rode demoed the crypt, nice board in flat conditions and for wakestyle. Didnt like board in chop though.
I went for a Tempo bit more rocker, pops similar but better in the chop. Both boards have rubbish straps though.
Go the Nobile NHP girls awesome load and pop great upwind pads go realy small no spray in your face, Otherwise the Fone SK8 and North young bloods
Have Fun

Hi Jacq,
Amazing how many guys are recommending guys boards. Hello guys!, The average girl requires different things from a board than guys do.
Girls feet are generally shorter, flatter and smaller. This requires less density in the footpads, smaller adjustable foot straps and a narrower board to get more of their lighter weight onto the rail to fascilitate easier edging and better control, especially in toeside riding.
The board should also have a softer flex and generally smaller length and width.
We made up a custom board for Shan our sponsored rider. The board is a Carboards FR128 with 40mm fins, a soft flex and modified North footpads and small ladies North Footstraps. SHan's board is white and covered with lots of brightly coloured collage of CB logo's.
This was the first board Shan had felt a good and solid connection to the board in many many years of putting up with boards footstraps and pads which were made for guys.
Heel bungees are only needed when the footstraps and pads don't work. Good straps keep the board on your feet all by themselves.
Total cost of the custom board about $950
Unless you are a larger girl in the 60-70 kilo range, then you owe it to yourself to look to at least investigating a board custom built just for you.
