The SB is definitely well priced this year compared to many other 9m's, so will be interesting to see what the price of the taboo is when released you would hope they would be almost the same price if they are competing for the same place in the market. We will soon see if the rumors are true.

When you look at the Taboo it would be hard to see where they have spent any extra money compared to the Bullaroo, there is no cuban fibre, no twist tech, no pullys or sliding rings, no flash bag. There is changes in the material i think they use 3 or 4 different materials through the range. So most of the cost would be in R&D which took over 14months. If you believe the Hype

If it does end up being priced right at the topend of the market it really is going to have to be the best kite on the market literally

On the Best forums, they have the price being similar to what the Nemisis nxg was, that will probably put it up around the $2000 mark with a bar for a 9m fairly pricey considering the bag is so cheap but we will have to wait and see, the actual price may vary a little with the strong AU$. But still in the ball park for someone looking for a top end kite.

The new Taboo complete is a little less expensive then Cabrinha. All Best retailers have the new pricing, so best check in with them.

Wow a 12m and a 17m either your one big guy or you love kiteing in light conditions

What do you think of the 17 would it be a good replacement for my old 15m rev, kite has been good but will fall apart soon it has been used that much. I love having a big kite in the quiver. Can you loop the 17m or does it turn to slow, loops on my 15m were always good fun

What size bar are you using on the 17m, 55cm?

Good to hear the price will be lower than the cab SB, all the overseas sites that have them listed have them at around $150 more. for the same size.

The 17 is the greatest kite, turns quicker then any 17 ive ever been on. Unfortunately Big kites are used quite a bit up here, until the cyclones hit.

The favourable AU$ at the moment has seen a better Retail price. Because of the uncertain economic climate though these prices could possibly change throughout the season, however we will be doing everything possible to keep them traditionally lower then the other brands.

These shops will only have these demos for a short while until they need to be sent to the next dealers, so get in and check these kites out. The Taboo has just been released online at www.bestkiteboarding.com

All your questions you have asked will be answered for you when you demo this kite. We just need wind up here so we can give some more input.

New 12m Taboo first rides in Sydney,
with a name like Taboo means forbidden, or forbidden to use , we all know that means must be good then hey?

Short review , in 10-20kts the 12m Taboo is very responsive and the initial turn is instant the kite turns n changes direction fast ,it generates power from its speed and is sensitive to small bar movements , and is sable and predictable, a big kite really needs to do that, I'm real happy with it.

Indepth reveiw

Out of the bag first thing I noticed was the Taboo is solid and super well built, all new new construction and build quality. QA is the best I seen and agree with what other people are saying new triple stitching looks bullet proof , nice simple short bridal (no pullys , rings ) with means no hassle with (twists) simple n easy connections to the kite .

The one pump system is also super solid system , which I never have been a fan of any one pump system , but had no issues with the NXG system. (with 10psi)

Rigging so its simple and easier to rig up then any best kite before.

History been rideing 10yrs, best kites since day 1, 1994 yarga , nemi , waroo , hp and nxg , hps are mad kites , and rode the NXG 10m mk1 /mk2 in most conditions last year, dont like big kites due to the slow turning speed and fly slow through the air.

Riding like most other riders out their I cant do handle passes ,and ride 95% hooked in so its no pro review ,

, so compared to passed best kites. is it better , Yes , why I biggest thing I like is the 12m taboo generates power from its speed as you power stroke the kite up and down its fast , gets through the lulls (between gusts) big surprise this kite flys and turns so fast for a 12m .
The kite is very responsive and the initial turn is fast and is sensitive to small bar movements , kites turns nice and smooth grab a hand full of bar the kite will pivot turn real fast n tight .
Bar pressure is medium feels direct (c-kite ) is just right not too light , so its easy to feel /know where the kite in the middle of a trick , a few kites i tryed of late the bar pressure so light making it difficult to correct mid way throw a trick , the taboo feels real good I,m real happy and from a 12m it does not feel heavy or big for its size , its a short stoke between depower /power and the kite does not mind oversheeting just adds more bar pressure.

Wakestyle the 12m Taboo tows like a truck , really loads up well before you pop, would suit kickers forsure again and is sable and very predictable, very smooth power delivery through gusts
upwind trucks up wind no problem here

Jumping in gusty 10-20 kts was real good fun be needed more wind to go huge and havn't been lit , so dont know? backroll kiteloops / transitions are fast n easier due to the extra power from the turning speed n tight turning ability , powered kite underturns transitions are fast n smooth , its so much fun in the this wind range.

To sum it up , I think what most riders want a high performance kite thats sable , predictable, goes hard upwind and jumps huge ,
build confidants to try new tricks and want little or no maintenance , And be as cheap as possible but understand quality doesn't come for free .
For that reason Best may have nailed it this year with the Taboo

.
