Rode the momentum board and liked last year, keen to get some feedback on the kites if anyone has any info on the new stuff....
The new Bolt and Torch were doing the rounds a few weeks ago, didn't see them myself but a few of the guys saw them and were very inpressed....
park wont be out for a while yet
new graphics on bolt r nice, didnt ride it no wind, but will demo it next month, looks like a cross between 2010 helix and cult
Pretty keen to hear about the low end and wind range of the Park or Bolt- rode the cult last year and found it to be lacking grunt, I want a one kite quiver and like the Naish quality just haven't been a fan of the kite options the last few years. Heard a rumour that bottom end power was getting a tweak and was interested to see if that was the case.....
All the info will be released the day NAISH put it all on their website soon but the Park is a later release than the others.
What model Cult did you try?
the bolt is more like the cult for sure
if you liked the 010 helix i think the park will be the new kite to bridge between the bolt and torch.
George tried the Bolt when it was up here (9m in marginal wind), pretty much does what it says on the box, a bit of a cross between the Helix and the Cult. A good all-rounder, i'll pick his brain for info when he gets back. The construction looks good and tough, nice graphics on all their gear this year too.
The park is a later release, it looks like its going to be a real RPM style kite, maybe with a bit of Vegas too it. Looks nice, but I guess we will just have to wait and see ![]()
sweet- tried the 2010 Cult and wasn't a huge fan but the Helix sounded ok. Sounds like I will be trying to demo a Park at some stage then. Cheers for the input.
10m Park and a bunch of other 2011 Naish gear will be available to try in Brisbane 7th August. All welcome to come and try.

Saw a dude riding the park @ kurnell on the weekend, the graphics looked sick! The wind was only light but he was throwing around like it is super fast. I'm definately keen to try this kite.
i was lucky to get a 15 minute ride on the 10m park on sunday, the wind was really bad up and down though so i could not see its full potential :(
in the short time i had on it i liked the bar pressure and fast turning speed. it also seemed really well behaved in the gusts. for a 3 strut kite it was rock solid!
i will have my hands on one for review in the next few weeks.
Rode the 10m Park last Wed in Perth![]()
The smile on my face after a 3 hours was hudge, she treated me well onshore waves strappless on my surfboard was fantastic.
I like the new naish concept of 3 strut open C kite and also so easy to fly.
Just need some more wind in this windless winter![]()
been in maui kiting.
test rode the 2011 9m bolt and 8m park (new model) kites
the bolt is a refined 2010 cult, the 2011 park has the feeling of a cross between the helix and torch
both were responsive in high winds, plenty of low end power.
yet naish still has to much depower on the bolt bar.
nice solid kites great to ride, be interested to test some larger models.
yet not my style of kite, prefer 'C' kite feel.
Another year another dangle dick bridle to wear out! Looks long enough to attach straight to the bar...
the Park must jump OK...when will they be available to buy here in Oz

The current Shadowbox record, in competition is 52 feet.
The biggest verified Shadowbox jump is 73.
We have been using the boxes pretty regularly in testing and have been sending the tracks to Shadowbox for verification.
Ryan "Toast" Toaspern is verified at 73. 35 to 40 knots on a Park 8 meter.
Got to demo a 12m Bolt.
Wind Condition: 14 ~ 18
Water Condition: Chop
My weight: 180
My experience: Intermediate, 3 years.
My quiver: 09 Helix (14, 12, 10, 8). Had Best, Cabrinha, Caution, and Slingshot.
My style: Freestyle and Wakeboard
I do not sell kites, just a kite addict. Although I owned different kites before, I only flown Naish kites recently. Therefore, it is only fair to compare it w/ the previous years of Naish kites.
If you like the 10 Cult or the 09 Helix, you are gonna love this kite. It's basically a 10 Cult or a 09 Helix w/ added advantages from the 10 Helix.
Visual Inspection: We put the 11 Bolt right next to 10 Cult and 10 Helix. From the back view of the kites is where you can see leading edge design and the differences. The 10 Helix has more of a C shape curve than the 10 Cult. The 11 Bolt is exactly in between the two shapes. Pretty tough construction. They also added some nice little features such as velcros to tie the bridles when you pack up your kite. The bar system is pretty close to the 10 bar system but shorter in length by about a inch. Yes, they smoothed out the sharp edges around the hole on the bar so that it won't wear on the lines anymore. Awesome leather bag w/ cool graphics on it. However, it lacks pockets and you really have to pack your kite good to fit in the bag since it uses zipper instead of strap to close the bag.
Right away, I noticed that the turning speed and the response time is a little different than my 09 Helix. Nothing drastic but it took me about 20 minutes to nail the timing down on some of my transition moves, especially when kiteloops were involved. In adequate wind (> 15), this is definitely improved kite over the 10 Cult or the 09 Helix. I didn't think it was possible since I love those kite. If I yank on the bar at the farthest part of the bar from the center, the kite loops are tighter, more smooth, and more powerful. If I keep my hands at the center of the bar, it is less responsive than the 09/10 Helix. In sum, the bar response relative to where you pull the bar is more pronouce than the 09 Helix/10 Cult. The kite feels more responsive and has a spongy feeling when you pull on the bar. I seem to have pretty good control in the air. If I want to park the kite right at 12 during my roll or spin, the kite does just that. I also rode the kite unhooked and did a few moves, kite performed fine. As steady as they come. I did feel a just slightly more bar pressure than my 09 Helix. Although the wind was light, I decided to go for a jump. After building up some speed, I loaded up as much pressure as I can, and off I go. Pretty high jump considering the light wind condition.
In sum, I loved the kite. When the wind gets over 15, the Bolt is an improved kite over the 09/10 Helix/Cult. If you are an intermediate or advance and love the 09/10 Helix/Cult lineup, you can probably enjoy some of the improvements.
i tried the 2010 helix and 2011 bolt back to back and found the bolt slower turning by a fair bit but less technical to use. seemed to have the same if not better bottom end than the helix. more bar pressure. very stable and easy to ride and goes upwind so easy. if u like the 2010 helix i think the park might be worth trying. the bolt is definitely not as aggressive as the 2010 helix, but a nice relaxing ride.
Hi guys ive ridden the 10mtr park now in flat water and small surf and can say its the best naish ive ridden so far fast turning light bar pressure sort of a cross between torch and rpm good boost and hangtime , goes up wind good and relaunch was easy.Even with the light bar pressure you could still tell what the kite was doing, have only used it for two sessions sofar, so not fully tested, but deffinatly one of naishes best in my books
Have fun

Havent tried the 2011 torch yet but last years was great, but didnt work that well in surf ,where the park worked good in both. But havent used 2011 yet
George
Hi George,
I have a wedding to attend in Noosa early next month - so if there is any wind I would love to demo the Bolt & Park if possible,
Thanks Hargs
