I?d like to compare both kite, as i will buy one of them. I?m 87 kg and into freestyle/wakestyle. I?m using a 15 m? Envy from 2011 and i?m very happy with it. Just the Adjuster sucks most of the time.
Now i?d like to sell my RPM 2012 in 10m? and will buy one of the kites shown above.
My thoughts are:
Envy:
Probably better Lowend, less slack as my former RPM. Feel not that direct as a RPM, but feels good in the air. Just the
Park:
I?ve no idea what this kite is like. A friend of mine has a 2011 and really likes his kite. I?ve read, that the 10 m can be too fast for unhooked, which i do most of the time.
So anyone tried both kites yet and could help me?
I have the newest Envy and should be flying it more on the weekend, it is very nice! the bar just takes some getting used too with the below the bar sheeting, i use it and dont really have an issue with it when i ride the Envy.
The new park is very direct with the new bridle, it is a very fast kite but can be slowed with the rear line and bridle settings.
Overall i would say the park is a more nimble kite, both kites have static bridles now which give them a nice feel and are fairly direct. the park is a tad lighter than the Envy, but the Envy has better low end. you should be happy with either of them, try and have a fly of each.
Yeh hoping to get out on the envy in the next week, let you know. Would like to get on a park, never have I should do hey.
Does anyone know the Low and Topend of both kites? I?m 86 kg at the moment.
Someone told me the 10.5er Envy is pulling really good and just a little bit less than this years 12m RPM. LF says it should start from 15 to 27 knots. But someone else in the forum wrote the 9 m Envy?s topend is around 30 Knots. I?m a bit unsure. The Envy should work for me from 17-25 knots for Unhooking. Any ideas?
Parks are quicker, similar to the RPM but have a more balanced feel, maybe somewhere in between a RPM and Envy. You're right that the low end on a Park won't be as good as the Envy. My 14m Park felt more like 2 metres smaller than my 15m Envy (which is a big slow beast). Can't comment on the size you're looking at however...
At 86 kilo you won't need to worry about top end of the park 10 m, 30+ knots easy. I ride mine in 25 and I'm 70 kgs. Bottom end in 2013/14 park is better than 2011 also faster, more float and generally improved all round. Probably one of the best bridled kites to unhook with but still not like a torch.
If your coming straight of an edge it will feel completely weird, will take a bit of getting used to. I felt the same when I tried the draft, totally different kite. I haven't tried the 2014 park yet but I have been told it goes a bit bigger and they took out the pulleys, otherwise similar to 2013
Yes I would imagine it would be. Remmeber I've owned and flown a lot of kites and run a catalyst at the moment 2013. I think I will work it out.
cheers for that
