Hi all.
I have just upgraded my Ozone Chicken loops to the Megatron, BUT every time i switch to go toe side and ride waves the darn thing twists on the Harness hook and slips off ! Anyone else having this problem surely i cant be the only one ?and have you found a fix ?
I use a Tabu Dakine waist harness.
I never had any problems with my old Ozone setup, but i dont want to go back to that as the new Beal line is a much better feel.
Any help would be appreciated thanks
Jip
P.S ..I am securing the Chicken Bone properly

beats me man, i've been using the thing for a few months now without any issues riding toeside etc. does the tabu harness have a weirdly-shaped spreader bar? there is no reason it should come out if using the donkey dick!

yeh the donkey dick just folds over and slips through the harness hook and pops through the chicken loop. Maybe its just not compatable with the Tabu ...oh well i wanted to try a new harness anyway ....what are those Pat love one s like ?

Weird. I had the opposite experience, the old Ozone loop would come unhooked, yet to have an issue with the megatron.
One thing I'd suggest is to make your dick a bit stiffer
A bit of PVC tube that fits inside maybe.

While I'm here - users of the older 2006-2007 bars, look out for wear at the bar ends, where the steering line leaders are larksheaded on. Had one of mine wear through a few weeks back, because of the sharp corners on the bar ends.

Hi Jip

There are a few solutions.
Check your dakine spreader bar, the hook should have a bulbous shaped, and has a short piece of stainless welded across it. There is another spreader bar that can be sold with Dakine harnesses, that has paralell sides. If you have the paralell sided version then that will be the main cause.

Another solution, will be to get an Ozone "chicken finger"
www.kitepower.com.au/collections/kitesurfing/SPGeneral

In the product pics on that page of our website you can see the correct DaKine spreader bar.

A third solution is to stop riding toeside.

Hi JiP,

We are the local WA dealer with Ozone and are here to help. If you want to drop in and catch up, I can have a look at the Spreader bar for you and find a solution. We can supply the Chicken Dick for you or even swap the spreader bar out for you if you like.

I haven't heard of anyone accidently unhooking just from going toeside. Like I said, if you want me to have a look, let me know and give me a call.

We also carry stock of replacement back line leaders for 07 bars. All riders of 07 Ozone kites using 07 bars, should from time to time check the larks head securing knot on the ends of the bars as they are prone to wear a bit.

We have a good range of other spare parts from 07 and 08 bars if required including upgrade packs, spare beal line per metre, shorter and longer line sets and new Megatrons etc.

I will send you a PM.

Good winds,

Yes we will swap it for you mate.
PM me your address, we will post one over.
Tell me what size harness is it ?
Or find a ruler and measure the length of the spreader bar and let us know.?
