Totally agree with murf. The 10m Havoc is my most preferred size and kite to date, given the right wind. No other brands/kites has given me more fun. My biggest air is also on the 10. I have a blue and a white in 10m, trying to convince myself color dont make a difference! Been argued that dark color is heavier due to the weight of paint. Anyone experience the same or is it just my mind.....

Can I have some havoc advice please?

If I think I need a 12m kite for most of my riding (melbourne), and i'm looking at the havoc, does that mean I should get the 10m or stick with the 12m. (been told the havoc pulls with the power of a kite 2m more than its size).

been riding for a year, i'm 68kg with a 132 underground. average wind 15-25kn

Hi MattyB

For those type of winds I would get the 10M. The standard seabreeze in Adelaide in 15-25kn and I normally just ride a 10 with a 130 recoil. The 10m is a sick kite you will love it.

hey just rode the hifi at kitejam and it was pretty SICK at loops never loopd so hard in my life!

but what i wana know is how everyone else found it unhooked?
i found that at first wen i was loading up against it it didnt really feel like i was building much power, i was wondering if i might have had the tuning wrong or something? i moved the front connection points back a bit to the next loop thing. then i rode the back lines on the 2nd knot n then the very last knot. did anyone else notice aswell that the wingtips look odd in the sky, you could see the outside canopy wen kite was sitting at 12?

overall its a pretty nuts kite though! i think it might have been over sheeted the first couple of runs unhooked, after that i stopped riding unhooked n just went nuts on the thing!

give me feedback about the unhooked riding you guys have done on it! im probably going to get a 12 and 9

What size Hi-Fi were you on dude?
I ride a 9 as my only kite at the moment and spend a lot of time unhooked.
I have the front lines on the top attachment and the rears on the 3rd knot (closest to kite) every time... I've tried every other setting and the kite just doesnt fly as well IMO... I have no idea why but with the back lines on the 1st and second knots the kite just wont work, i;ve had it out in a measured 35knots and tried the 1st knot for a bit of depower, and it still was weird?

So yeah, have a run with it on the top front line setting, and closest to the kite on the back lines, with that i've never had it oversheet when unhooked and you get a good gradual increase in power as you load up... It does feel lighter than a c kite on your load up, but as soon as you take off it just throws you :)

You will be VERY happy with a 9 and 12, might overlap a little cos the 9 has decent low end.. Make sure you get a 9m bar and use it for the 12 as well, It turns more than adequately with a little bar lol...

Just watch the stopper ball on the 5th line, i bailed to it from an s-bend and the 5th line actually cut straight thru the ball its wrapped around...

any more questions just send an email at rhys@surfconnect.com

Come check out the demo this weekend too guys, we got Safety, First
Aid and a Kite Tuning Clinic. First to volounteer their kite gets it 100% tuned for them... Also think theres a board up for grabs as well as all the usual food, music and oh yeah! Bikini demo's from Hive

yo got the 12m havoc that was on the buy sell. Happy with the choice of the 12m only because I plan to own a smaller kite for those crazy days. It should arrive tomorrow and will post my thoughts when I get it on the water.

Thanks heaps for every ones input

Tested the Recoil Comp Limited Edition board today in 15-25kts conditions. It is the best board ever I have tried. Weighing only 1.9kg it was superfast, loads and pops effortnessly. Extremely thin rail helps cuts up wind with ease. I will nominate it to be the board of the year.

yea so i just had the tuning wrong then, was probably flying to far forward in the window. that small bar is sick aswell! such a nice feel, kite is very still wen the bar only moves a little bit so its epic for doing stuff to blind, but when u put some pressure on it kicks up speed super fast! i even think it flies alot better then my torch does, the 9 was feeling alot nicer when landing unhooked tricks and trucks trough mental loops!

I've heard so much good stuff about the new Havoc I think I'm going to trade in for a 8m, 12m and 16m quiver.

I see that the new bar for the havoc and hi-fi looks super tidy, but it's a shame there's no swivel for the front lines/chicken loop. I can't understand why LF overlooked that one, as it's such a simple thing but makes a big difference to stress free kiting. Just wondering if you guys who ride the new LF kites have found twisted lines much of a problem?

Thanks

Hi GF

I have not found the front lines twisting a big problem. It just looks a little messy thats all. I also makes you do tricks both ways . You will love the new Havocs!!!

Sorry folks, here's another 'what size kite' question for the 08 Havoc riders.

I was going to get an 8, 12 and 16m quiver of Havocs, but don't think I can afford that anymore, so it' s gonna have to be a 2 kite quiver.

At the moment I ride a LF 138 Mission board with bindings, which needs plenty of power to be able to get good unhooked pop. If you were in my boots (or should I say, bindings), would you go for an 8 and 12 or a 10 and 14m quiver? I haven't heard too much about the 14m other than that last years Havoc wasn't too hot in that size.

Any advice appreciated,

I rode the 14M Havoc last weekend. The bar is super light and turns super fast for a 14. I am only 74 kilos and could it into 25 knots (I was maxing but). If I had to go for a 2 kite quiver it would be a 14 and 10.

Cheers

Travis

How much do you weigh?
PM me if you like then I can let you know.
Better still come and demo the kites yourself so you can decide which is best. I have the 12m & 10m and 8m.
I'm around 60kg our average wind is 18-22 knots. I ride the 10m the most. Have flown the 8m in 30-35knots was hanging on with a 5 8" surf board. When it hit 35-40 Knots I was well above the high end range for my body weight, Passedthe kite over to a guy who is 100kgs, he kited for hours happy as. The 12m I use in 10-18 knots, can start to use my 10m before then but will keep riding whats in my hand for as long as possible rather than pump up again. All up over the 5 odd months I have had the kites I use the 10m the most, followed by the 12m & only a handful of times on the 8m.
BTW the 10m is so sweet & a must have.
Hope this helps.

Interesting to watch how 4 brands of kites behaved today at wello in this gusty conditions 25-35kts. The Havoc was the most stable of all. One brand without naming the name just kept flapping to the point of inversion. Pretty competent riders they were.

Had the 9m Hi-Fi out today from 12 till 2pm @ Stanley. Definately must have the rear lines as short as possible to make it work. I found it nice and stable and it never deformed or "clapped it's hands together" when edging hard against it. I've had the 10m Havoc out in similar conditions, but I prefer the direct feel and depower feel of this kite. It's rides like a C kite but with awesome at the bar depower. I also think it goes upwind slightly better than the Havoc.
The boosts were UNREAL. Nice one Liquid Force!

On the topic of LF. How do the LF luxury pads and straps go? Do they fit an 07 nobile 666? I hate the nobile pads and may be looking at some new ones.

out of curiosity, i have read on kiteforum the luxury pads are prone to blowing out an air pocket in the pads. If this is the case is it covered by warantee or if i have a hard landing and blow them out will i have just wasted my money?

We never have a luxury pad returned. The new Comp Lace straps also has similar pads but in black. These pads are the most comfy ones in the market. If it is a manufacturer's fault then yes, it will be covered under warranty, provided it is used for its purpose and within reasonable conditions.

I have never blown out a set of Luxury pads or seen a pair let go. The only way I could see them letting go is by running over them in your car!!!!

The concepts look pretty awesome, white and gold graphics, she's super thin at the tips and nice and beefed up through the middle section :) Remember the old wipika graphics with the black and white flame things? Its got those of each tip again :) just smaller :)

Sharp rails, Smooth steady rocker and niiiiice amount of flex which should give her a nice spring in her step Oh and its light, As light as the comp recoils

Padi's got a set of comp lace straps on it now so ill have a ride this arvo and give a full review.... If its anything like my old 05 MPro then ill be stoked :)
