Hi all,
I've been riding for about a year, able to do backrolls, grabs and hooked in raileys (gaylies?) and ride blind if the water is super flat, the only board I've had in this time is an 04 Jaime Pro 128. I've been trying to unhook for the last few months but mostly it has ended in tears. I decided I wanted a wide board with a bit more length and saw the 06 mission going cheap on the web.

I've had 2 sessions on the Mission.
Session 1, rode it with the 07 Luxury pads and straps, man these pads are soft and comfy!
The board was definately smoother through the chop than the JP. Edging has a slightly springy feel, kind of like riding on a springy matteress or something. This helped me with my pop as I managed to land something resembling an U/H railey for the first time on my first attempt on this board. As you can imagine I decided then that I like this board. I also find I dont need to edge upwind as hard to slide the board around for a carving transition.

Session 2, rode it with the ultra boots that I took the inner wraps out of. I think the ultras are the 04 model. The first thing (after I got the damn things on!) I noticed was that as long as the board lands the right way up on the water without digging in the nose in, you can land almost anything, the wide stance also helps this I think. It might not be pretty but you can generally keep riding without sinking in. Also was able to do backrolls at lower speeds by using more board pop than edging speed (if that make sense). Obviously the board is quite a bit heavier and this is noticable when trying to get the board up for a railey.

After the session I noticed the bindings had worn a fair bit of skin off the front of my shins (where that tendon bit is) I think this is due to rubbing in the binding, anyone else get this or have an idea to minimise it? I didn't use any lube.

All in all I felt like my riding progressed alot in the 2 sessions. My tricks probably still look crappy but the feel much nicer! If you see a cheap one floating around I'd say go for it!
