Over the past week I've had the pleasure of riding the new 2008 Liquid Force Hybrid SLE Hi Fi. What a kite! Liquid Force has hit the nail on the head with this one. I love it and will be my personal choice of kite for 2008. Why?
When you 1st get the kite out you notice the sick graphics, then pump up with the union inflation system. This single-point inflation system inflates the entire kite structure in one easy step. Once you go Union inflation you will never go back. This system also features LF’s exclusive Union valve. This molded valve provides rigidity to the union one pump system as well as giving the hoses the most secure connections possible.
Anti stretch panel’s layout as in the Havoc & Session, the Hi Fi canopy panel layout was developed in order to reduce the panel distortion caused by multiple panel assembly, combined with Liquid Force using the highest quality materials available to construct the Hi Fi.
When you roll out your bar & lines you will notice that the quality in construction was not missed here. The comfortable bar complete with metal insert in the centre depower to prevent wear to both your depower line and bar. The colour coded lines are pre stretched and waxed to prevent tangles and ensure an easy hassle free ride every time.
That’s before you even get on the water or the kite in the sky.
When flying the kite it is so solid & stable. On the 1st day I rode it everyone who came in from riding was going on how the wind was gusty. I had not noticed it and had been thinking how solid the wind was. You can even see how solid the kite is in the sky compared to others available on the market
The Hi Fi has consistent light bar pressure and is very responsive for the size kite (I was on a 12m). The lift is awesome, a real thrill to kite loop and turns on the dime for wave riding. Unhooked it has solid pull without being extreme.
On Friday the winds picked up so I flew the Hi Fi with a lot of depower and was really surprised that it remained responsive. I could ride and throw the same tricks hooked in or unhooked. In the past when flying SLE kites I have found that when depowered a lot the kite became less responsive and less enjoyable to fly. Not the Hi Fi.
I have so far got a 20 knot wind range from the Hi Fi. I'm 60kg and can start to enjoy riding a 12m Hi Fi in 12 knots and have ridden it up to 32 knots and could have gone further. I do change my boards to obtain this wind range. I used my 5'8 LF surfboard and also my 133cm LF Recoil board to get this wind range.
This kite is great for all styles of riding and is a real fun enjoyable hassle free set up.
The Hi Fi kite complete retails @
7m $1549.00
9m $1599.00
12m $1649.00
14m $1699.00
I believe Liquid Force has the best value for money kites available on the market for 2008. Combined with the sick range of boards and accessories there is no need to ride anything else in 2008.
Please call or go into your local Liquid Force dealer to check it out and try it for yourself.
Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

HI guys, we realized that the control systems of the 08 LF HIFI samples that you guys have needed a quick fix to make the kites fully perform..

So far, the factory made the 5th lines and front lines about 3 cm too long., please make sure you set all 5 lines EVEN, and hook the 5th line to the middle knots for the best performance..

Thanks, hope you guys enjoy the HIFI as much as we do.
