Interested on some feedback on the Liquid Force Drop kiteboards, both 05 and 06 models. Im looking at upgrading for 2nd season kiting and most probably 138(ish) size board. Any review would be appreciated
Cheers
i have the 05 138 drop ltd.
simply awesome.
as they say, it is the royals royce of the series.
just easy to use, cruses sic but the main thing that makes it shine is in the waves.
i am working on mastering smacking lips and wave riding, one of the reasons why i bought this board, and since i have had it i have improved heaps. it just turns so smoothly with the soft rails and the concave. no more getting pulled off your edge or going for the carve and then smack, your edge grabs and over the front you go...
the pads are so comfy too which makes it nice.
come down to scabs and you can have a crack of mine if you like.
cheers for that Rosey, appreciate the offer for a go on your board.
Hopefully Ill be riding a demo one tomorrow with a bit of luck.
Cant wait.

If its anything like the one I saw yesterday he will have a CRACK at for sure. Old construction techniques, heavy boards and they snap in half after less than one season............... fully sick
i've got an 04 drop 130.
On construction its bullet proof have battered holy crap out of this board and its still going great as though nothing happend.
I find it quite stiff, and rather heavy. dont know if subsequent drops have improved in this aspect.
i have had a love hate relationship with her since i bought her, we get along when the wind is fanging, otherwise we argue like mad and i struggle to get her upwind etc
Great for turning, esp in waves, real nice loose feal and easy to chuck around, you dont notice the weight so much when on a plane.
i'd recommend try before you buy, and give it a really good workout before you part with dollars, at least a session.
The drop ltd's are great boards. Especially in chop and waves.
I have report of a broken one last weekend, and was very surprised
as out of the many out there this is the first.
This person has a brand new one waiting for him for replacement.
Earlydazer, your true identity is no secret!![]()
and here i am thinking the glasses are working
have to speak to me mate superman and see how he gets around it hahaha i was just saying what i saw that day thats all had it been a naish or what ever i would have let you all know the same it isnt just slagging your product kusu. they wanted so reviews would you like me to say its all rosy or the truth hey i dont make the person buy the thing i just say what i felt or saw good or bad
no worries.
Maybe take one for a ride so you can ride review it.
I have seen broken boards from almost all brands so it
is not uncommon. It is unusual for a drop ltd though as this is the first I have ever heard about.
Well Santa came early and delivered my 2006 Drop Ltd board. I am 86kg and had 2 sessions down at Woodies and one on the river all above 20kns.
In a few word the board is fantastic, and did what I was looking for in a new board. In the waves and the choppy conditions it tracked very well and held an edge even in the biggest gusts and performed even better on the flat water.
One of the best features of Liquid Force boards are the air cell foot beds. They take out the shock of hard landings, which after using standard type's caused sore knee's![]()
after a long session. And now no more knee pain and anti-inflamatories.![]()
If you see me at Woodies, Safety Bay or the river you only have to ask to have a test drive.![]()
