Has anyone ridden the 2013 LF DLX and the new 2015 LF Element that can provide a comparison please?
Hey Live to fly, i have rode both the Element 2015 and Dlx 2013. Both are extremely good boards. The DLX is a medium- high rocker board and quite stiff, it tracks up wind very good and is fast, its got fantastic pop and is more of a wake style dominated board than the Element. i would suggest the 138cm or 142 for your weight. On the other hand the Element has a very shallow rocker line and is a lot more flexy through the tips than the DLX. The element is more of a comp board as is keeps its speed between tricks while also being a very good ferried board. I would recommend the 139cm for your weight. at present i ride the Element. I hope this has helped ![]()
Thanks MannyBlanch! I've been riding the 138 DLX for about 1.5 years now and am planning to upgrade my board and kite quiver this year.
After reading your review I'm tempted to keep the DLX for choppy days and maybe start taking it to the wake park on windless days.
I'm trying to organise a demo of the Element and the Element Carbon but I can't find anyone over here that has demo's available ![]()
The Echo would be closer to the 2013 DLX in terms of rocker, flex and bottom shape. As Manny says the Element has a flatter rocker.
They're great down at WestOz, I was there last week and bought a new Reo however, there were no demo Elements.
There was a sexy looking carbon version, but I didn't ask if it was available for demo and I think I'd prefer the standard version.
I think I'll head down there again on Friday and suss it out.

Are you riding boots or straps with it?
At Kitepower yes don't know about other places? But yeah you can't ride the Carbon Element with boots it's not warranty with bindings. I have ridden both with boots and I liked the standard better anyways. With straps the carbon model is sick though.
I'm in Perth buddy.
Try and find your nearest LF dealer. They will hook you up with a demo, if not come to QLD and demo mine haha
