I have been looking at the Liquid Force bar and I like the clean setup and the CPR release......but was wondering if your SS leash ever gets caught up when you ride unhooked with it through the loop and does it get in the way when hooking back in?

Anything new for 2011 as far as setup with the bar or is all about the kite ?

You have a few ways to hook your safety, all down to your personal preference and ability -

1/. through the chicken loop onto the end of the depower line between the 2 knobs on the black strip (advise this for intermediate to advance riders), this gives 90% depower,
2/. through the chicken loop onto the metal loop at the end of the front line (safest and advise this setting for beginners as this gives 100% depower),
3/. ride suicidal (not going to teach it here cos it's dangerous and not recommended).

Have not had any feedback on difficulties in rehooking. Agree it is a very clean and easy to use setup, the best ever brought out to date. Yes it has been improved again for 2011, with longer centre piece and thicker EVA to give better gripping and protect graphics better. The only problem we had was a couple of users did not put the catch back properly before heading out and the safety came off as a result - users error. To ensure this does not happen, the 2011 model also has yellow markings so user can see easily if catch is not in properly. Also advise you to have chicken loop cleat pointing downwards so 1/. you can adjust depower a lot easier while riding, and 2/. if you are riding maximum power, the end bit doesnt stick up. I always pull in like a cm even if I am riding with maximum depower so the end sits nice and flat.

Will be putting videos on youtube to run through all the different ways of set ups on the new bar. Any other questions feel free to PM or post here.

Gotcha, so with the 90% or the 100% the best option is to go through the chicken loop. I guess the only time you might lose the chicken loop is if you detach from your kite.............and if you do that I guess you have more things to worry about than just losing your chicken loop......... ;)

what like? going kiting again? why would you even consider a kite that allows you to lose your chicken loop

I have never lost one and the only case I know someone lost one up the sunny coast was it wasnt put on properly before he went out. Again the new ones will have markings and instructions imprinted so to ensure even the most beginners can ensure it is rigged up properly before they launch. Putting the leash through the loop is just an extra measurement.

definitely is a good clean system that doesnt get affected by external pull (the amount of force needed to release stays constant regardless of kite's pull). you wont lose the cl if using your donkey dick or putting the leash through like suggested above.

another thing that can be done which i've done is put a small pig tail between the 5th line and the CL so that you can always just clip onto the CL with your leash regardless of skill level and if you need to pull (or accidentally trigger) the QR you will still be attached to the 5th line.

the loop never bothered me as i clip above the CL with my leash and you cant accidently knock a push away system. but a mate showed me that and i just did it for safe measure.
